Ruhiger Traum was once the blacksmith of his own little forge called The Quiet Anvil, which he inherited from his father after he retired. His mother, father, and three siblings weren't born and raised on the main continent of Crestlydora in the Land of Dreams, which is shaped like the cresent moon--rather, they were from a different continent, which explains his name and his accent. Laut, his Fairfin, despite being named "noisy", was actually born mute, and can only speak through telepathy or charades.

One day, while Rui was working his forge, a lady Dreamer came in with some fellow workers and requested some gear for her scientific experiments. Over time, the two grew fond of each other, to the point where they double proposed to each other. The ring on Rui's ribbon is the engagement ring she bought for him and gave him on that night.

Even to this day, he never takes it off, and keeps it in as best condition as he can.

After their double proposal, Rui handed off The Quiet Anvil to an apprentice, and moved to Crestlydora with his silver lady, where they planned on being married.

But Ruhiger is not quite a normal Dreamer, you see, he knows things--dangerous things--that others can't be told, and these secrets ended up costing him everything...

The scars you see on his left foreleg Pearl and his hip serve as reminders of what he gave up protecting those secrets, not to mention the Nightmare that Follows wherever he goes. The scar on his Pearl in particular causes him to walk with a limp in his true and Manticore forms.

Nowadays, Ruhiger wanders around Crestlydora, without a home, without a family, and without the Dreamer he loved, staying away from civilization as best he can and only heading into towns when he absolutely needs to, despite the dangers that entails. He doesn't make friends and people that try to get close, he will literally ditch and leave in the middle of the night, feeling it's for their own safety.

Ok, also, for anyone else who's wondering--No, Jezebel was not Zinniadream, they just both happen to be pink. I said on Zinnia's reference that she still wears her ring to this day, and if you'll notice, Jezebel does not have a ring on either of her chains.

Jess is also like 13,000 years old too, and Rui is 207, so...
