1. Tod is a Glowpod, a magical aquatic creature of unknown origin. They are believed to have been created by magic, but nobody knows when or why. They can move both in water and on dry land, and spend most of their time travelling between different bodies of water, searching for other creatures to play with.
2. He can 'turn off' his bio-luminescent orbs at will. He mostly uses them at night or when swimming deep underwater, since he doesn't have good night vision.
3. Even though his species doesn't eat (they don't even have mouths), Tod still wonders what eating would be like. Sometimes he'll try touching edible things with his nose, trying to 'taste' them, but hasn't yet suuceeded.

4. Even though Tod has never met a whale, he's heard of them and really wants to meet one someday. He basically hero-worships whales. Maybe it's because they look like a much, much bigger version of him (Tod is only three feet long).
5. Sometimes he'll climb out of the water and follow people he likes the look of, trying to get them to play with him. He's also been known to jump onto the roofs of peoples' cars and ride around with them. His friendly behaviour is a lot like a dog's or a dolphin's.
6. He can't speak (due to not having a mouth), but he 'communicates' by making a strange humming noise. It's quite versatile - he can alter the volume/pitch/tone in a lot of ways to convey different emotions or intentions.

7. He likes playing with baIIs; if you toss a ball into the water then he might chase it, push it around, or try to bring it back to you.
8. He doesn't have gills, but he can stay underwater for quite long periods before needing to come up for air (like a whale). He likes to explore the dark depths of seas and lakes, staying down for as long as possible before finally swimming back up.
