-May the flesh and blood of our ancestors to our descendants provide us strength, will, and courage through which magic will flow. Throughout, within and beyond time itself-

Monger:

1) Monger's has many names associated with him. But they all strike fear into those lucky enough to hear his name. Western Wyrm, Phantom's Scythe, are to name a few.

2)He is a demon hailing from the western sands in northern Evren. Monger is a monster and a beast with a gluttonous desire that never satisfies.

3) The origins surrounding Monger are ancient and shrouded with mystery. It is thought that they creed of magic would have to been broken to summon/ create such a beast.

4) Monger is always searching to feed, but is especially attracted to entities that actively emit magic. This means that humans have an easier time at hiding from him, but magic isn't the only way to track somethingor someone~(See my lore post for a brief overview on my magic system)
5) The more he feeds the larger he grows, and the harder it becomes to stop him. Though he can't be infinitely large, there is a limit.
6) Monger is venomous and has a hypnotic-like glare, avoid both his claws, eyes and teeth. He also smells, the sound of rattling may signal that he's near.

7) Monger as large as he is tends to borrow himself deep underground. It is for this reason that he is able to strike his victims by surprise. Underestimating him is the last mistake you want to make.
He also likes to hang near ravines and large crevices found in the desert. The desert itself people tend avoid not only due to it's unforgiving environment but the tales associated with it have others on edge. Most notably Fang's Ravine.

8) Monger likes to hoard things, sometimes burrowing them underground with him. Because of Monger's constant love of earth and dirt, the desert has a large underground tunnel system that is not well known.
Very few have been able to utilize the tunnels to the best of their advantage. Yet, there are some secret tunnels finished by local inhabits.
There are even a few maps that layout the dusty labyrinth. But getting you hands on one is unlikely. The maps are rare and do not quite cover all the twists and turns the underground has to offer. The current whereabouts of who holds such information is unknown, and guides are next to useless.

Oooh Monger! I didn't really know anything about him until now, but this was an interesting read! He definitely doesn't sound like something I'd want to encounter. XD

I'm already hoping someone tags me for this again--

Reply: Eh, I don't know. XD They probably don't think much of it.
I imagine different animals' blood has different tastes, though, so vampires /can/ have specific preferences.
Some probably prefer human blood. >:)

Reply: You keep reminding me about info I forgot to include. XD
Garlic doesn't affect vampires, that's a myth (though a lot of people believe it). I dunno about any other supposed 'anti-vampire' items though. (Except wood, that does harm them.)

Some vampires probably took advantage of the pig blood in wine bottles thing and just bought them, because hey, it's blood they can drink! And it's probably cheaper than the actual bottled blood the stores market for them! :D

Radiant Raindragon

02 Mar, 2020, 4:10 pm

Reply: Yeah the bottled blood is actually pretty costly - only vampires buy it, so the sellers made it expensive so they can actually make a profit off of it.

And I actually have some more info on the way different kinds of blood is valued. X) Not by type, but rather by species.

I'll post it here in a minute, I hope you don't mind me going on a lore tangent on your post. XD

The blood marketed to vampires in Caelum comes in three different categories/tiers. (Plus a forth tier of bloods that /aren't/ sold.) To break it down briefly:

Tier 1 - Blood of common domestic animals (cows, chickens, sheep, etc). Considered to be the least valuable because of how easy it is to obtain. Doesn't taste bad, but some vampires are fussy.

Tier 2 - Blood of wild animals (deer, foxes, rabbits, boar, etc). More expensive. Generally bought by vampires who consider 'common' blood to be beneath them.

Tier 3 - Blood of exotic animals that don't live in Aether (exotic birds, whales, lions, tigers, etc). These are extremely expensive and mostly only drunk by rich vampires trying to make themselves seem more classy. XD

Tier 4 - Blood of sentient species (humans, werewolves, dragons, etc). These are not allowed to be sold anywhere, but some vampires like the taste of these bloods so much, that they'll attack people to feed on them (which is a crime in Caelum). I also imagine there could be a sort of 'black market' trade of these bloods, i.e. people selling them illegally for extremely high prices.

Re: Thanks! Glad you like it! Yeah, angry characters can be fun.

Radiant Raindragon

02 Mar, 2020, 6:08 pm

Reply: Hmm, the werewolves' secret underground tunnels? I honestly don't really know at this point; I make things up as I go along. XD The tunnels pretty much spread under the entire city, or at least large areas of it. What's more important is where the /entrances/ to the tunnels are. I'd make a map to show where the entrances are, but making a detailed map of the whole city would take... a lot of time. :') So I'm not really sure how to answer that right now.

And illegal markets (for stuff like tier 4 blood, stolen goods, etc) are probably held either in abandoned buildings, or in places like the abandoned train tunnel Althea and Den went into? Those kinds of places. I also imagine people selling a lot of illegal stuff online.

Sorry for all the vague answers, I make this stuff up as I go along and my brain is fried right now. XD

The 8 facts meme is growing! It's only been a few days, but there's already quite a lot of posts in the tag. :D

Re// Right!? It's so annoying! Like fine, I can't fly on my own in real life, but in a dream I should be able to. But when the dream is limiting me to reality, I scream! x'D

It's so frustrating! Let me fly in my dreams!

Yesss, of course I was gonna tag Euta, I adore her, she's darn precious <3

Reply: I actually own/have owned multiple toy swords. I had a wooden shortsword as a kid, then I got a wooden cutlass, and then I got a huge wooden longsword that's too dangerous to swing around. XD

And no, I've never owned a horse, I'm way too poor. XD
There used to be a riding centre near my home where you could basically take a horse for an hour and go off hacking through the forest. It was nice. X) It's been several years since I last rode though; the centre got shut down and all the other riding centres are too expensive.

if you have a look to my gallery, you can notice that my drawings are getting more and more sad, as they aren't coloured. That sounds sad to me ¡n¡
