Your art is quite impressive, it's a shame that it goes mostly unnoticed just because it's not on the 3DS.

@Munin: Is this a painting of Jack Nicholson from the movie "China Town?" This is a great painting as always. :)

I appreciate the kind words. @Inque: Yep. One of my favourite film noirs.

Your technique is always awesome, Munin, real inspiring to watch the playback, but may I say that I think the ear is a wee little bit too far away? Something about the position of that ear bothers me, but that's nothing compared to how well composed everything is. It's probably just me.

H_C: You could be right. I usually flip the image a few times to check relationships, but I just looked at the playback and noticed I didn't check after the first draft. It looks about right to me, but I have stared at this paint long enough already so my brain doesn't have a clear definition anymore, hehe. Thank you for the critique. Much appreciated. :)

@thedamus: Nice to see some of the first Vita crew stopping by.I am in no way "masterful", but as far as tips go with the Vita, I would say learn what you can't do and then find whatever creative ways around that you can find. I'm talking mostly about the lack of pressure sensitivity. It may not even be a big problem for you, but I would still suggest you experiment with the notion of blocking in all your elements and shapes at something like 75% opacity. Then make multiple saves, and then experiment with the hard round and bristle brush to refine at whatever opacity feels right to you (don't dip below 60% to begin with). I would say optimal level is always no less than 80%, but I'm talking about it really depends on your approach. Best advice: take a traditional approach with the hard round. You will learn a shit load. Don't paint with the air brush. It will deceive you at almost every turn. Use it for effect, and only then in moderation. HARD BRUSH WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO PAINT... that's a pretty cool mantra for a digital painter. Oh, and have some fun! ;)

Just like every other piece I've seen with the same Artist Signature, the red M, I love everything about this piece. From design, composition, the positioning of the face in the area, the execution and the realistic detail. I can easily say that this is a work of art.
