He was going to catch me, I knew and more importantly, my gut knew. I sprinted through the trees as the gunfire picked up behind me. A tree I had just passed blew to pieces, splinters of bark raining down around me as I ducked my head. These guys were beginning to irk me, and not in a good way. Summoning a spell in my hand as I ran, I felt one of the guys gaining on me. I threw the spell down on the ground and a void opened up. A moment later a scream as he fell in, moving too fast to avoid it, and then silence as the ground resealed itself. He was now at the core of the earth, thanks to me. I dodged another spray of gunfire as I took a sharp right, sweat building on my brow. I needed to shift, I could get away from them quicker if I was in my panther form, but that took concentration, it wasn't a spur of the moment kind of thing. I summoned another spell, this time the spell reciprocated itself with each step I took. After I moment I let the seal give way, and in each place I had stepped a sharp spike flew up from the ground. More screams as the men were impaled. I smiled, I hadn't lost my touch yet, pain was still my forté. More gunfire, this time it was sporactic and not calculated, they were beginning to get scared. Good. Let them be scared. I stopped for a split second and that's when I heard the barking, no not barking per say but more like… howling. Wolves.
