Shepherd and Euterpe exchanged glances for a moment.

"I don't know.." Muttered Shepherd.
Euterpe just nodded in silent agreement.

{Dianne laughed a bit at the story.}

Dianne: "I never liked gnomes.I much preferred crushing them under my foot..."

{She then began to approach Shepherd.}

Dianne: "So, you've eaten nothing but gruel and raw fish for your entire journey? Come with me, I'll give you an actual meal, free of charge."

{Stella rolled her eyes at the statement, 'We're a great band'. //Everybody who comes through here thinks their the next big thing...// She thinks bitterly. //You should let your music do the talking and shut up about your opinions.//}

Dolorus: //Hmm, rather confident, isn't he? Are you going to step on their dreams like you have so many others?//

{Stella just watches Pyre leave, waiting for a response from her boss.}

{Dianne raises a brow at their hesitation.}

Dianne: "What's not to know? If you're hungry, you should eat. If you're not comfortable accepting food from strangers, that's ok. I'd just rather you not starve after having come all this way."

(Dropping in for a quick reply before I sleep.)

Arc nodded, trying to encourage Shepherd and Euterpe to make what he hoped was the right decision. 'I know you're suspicious of strangers, but I want to help, too. If you need to know anything about the city - or even need a place to stay - then just let me know. I'm always available to help.' He glanced at Dianne, then back at Euterpe. 'I'm sure you'll trust us more if we can give you some decent food.'

Reluctantly the two agreed to have a meal with Dianne.
"Thank you" They both said, which caught Shepherd off guard a little that Euterpe agreed to eat.
Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad after all.
"Can Marco come?" He asked holding the dog tightly.

Dianne: "Only if you make sure to keep him on a tight leash. It's this way, follow me."

{Dianne starts to walk towards her bar. Finaly finding a moment to reply to her employee, she texts back.}

{Chuckling, she speaks to Arc.}

Dianne: "Heheh, looks like one of your band members got caught snooping around the bar before hours."

Pleased that they were finally getting somewhere, Arc fell into step alongside the group. He glanced at Dianne, slightly surprised. 'Oh, really? It was probably either Loch or Pyre, that seems like the kind of thing they'd do. I hope they didn't cause any problems, whoever it was.'

Shepherd and Euterpe followed behind. Marco was on a rope so he would've run off but that didn't stop him from pulling hard as he tried to get into the lead.
"So how far is this, resturunt, restar- restuarant?" Asked Euterpe.

{Dianne reads Stella's return text as she replies to Euterpe and Arc.}
Stella: <I don't know, I've never met them. It was this wierd vampire guy in a horrendously gaudy getup.>

Dianne: "A few blocks. Not far at all. Well, Arc, it looks like it was Pyre who did that. That's his name, right? Vampire? Dresses in very bright clothing?"

Dianne: <That one's called Pyre. I forget his role in their band.>

Arc chuckled. 'Oh, that makes sense. He probably didn't notice the bar wasn't open yet.' He paused, choosing his next words with care. Pyre might not be listening, but he still didn't want to say anything bad about his fellow bandmate. 'He's a really nice guy, but he can be... a bit oblivious at times.'

Dianne: "I'm sure he meant well, but my bouncers can be a bit skittish. Stella too. They don't like people sneaking around. I'm sure it's fine, no harm, no foul."

Stella: <Well, he shouldn't be sneaking around. When they show up, I'm going to make a point about that.>

Dianne: "...I'm sure it'll be fine..."

Arc smiled a little worriedly. 'I hope so. If we end up not being allowed to perform because of what happened with Pyre, then Stal would be... well, 'annoyed' is an understatement.'

'Did someone just mention me?' came a light, curious voice from somewhere nearby. Pyre approached the group, having been on his way back from the Serpent's Tomb. 'Hey, you guys,' he said, looking at Dianne and Arc. He then turned his gaze onto Shepherd and Euterpe. 'And hi, other guys! Hey, aren't you the ones Arc stopped to help last night?'

{Dianne chuckes lightly as Pyre appears.}

Dianne: "Hello, Pyre. Oh, we were just making conversation."

{She then replies to Stella.}
Dianne: <Relax, would you? It's not like he stole anything. Right?>

"Bright" Euterpe stated and before she could say more Shepherd grabbed her muzzle shut.
"I guess, you know about that?" Shepherd asked curiously.

'I told him last night,' said Arc. 'I thought it was only fair to tell him why I didn't make it in time for last night's gig.'

Pyre nodded. 'Honestly, I think it's really sweet that Arc stayed behind to help you guys. That's way more important than a performance.' He then turned to Dianne, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. 'Uh, so I guess you know what happened earlier? Sorry about going into your bar before it was open. I just wanted to get a look around.'

{Dianne just smiles slightly.}
Dianne: "It's alright. But, you didn't need to sneak in to get a look around. We would have shown you around when you arrived as expected."

"How many more know?" Asked Euterpe anxiously.

( @Alk - Haha yeah, long descriptive posts are fun to write and read, but sometimes you really only need a quick line of dialogue to progress with things. XD I forget that sometimes.)

'Eheheh, I know... but I guess I didn't want to wait around for everyone else to be ready,' said Pyre with an apologetic smile. 'And I had nothing else to do at the time.'

'Only the rest of our band,' Arc replied, noting Euterpe's worry and attempting to sound reassuring. 'Stal, Gray and Loch. I'm pretty sure nobody else knows the story of what happened last night, except Dianne, obviously.'

Dianne: “Hmm, impatient, are we? Personally, I don’t care about that, but I wonder how your band will feel about it. Stalgator strikes as the...try hard type.”

{Dianne then turns to give Euterpe a concerned look.}

Dianne: “I assure you, people knowing about the accident won’t impact you in any way, so you can ease down a bit.”

'I already told Stal,' Pyre replied. 'He kinda... freaked out... but I think he's calmed down now.'

'He might not stay calm if things turn sour,' commented Arc. 'If Stella doesn't let us play purely because of what happened with you, then we might be in a tough spot.'

'Oh, I'm sure she wouldn't do that,' said Pyre, though his tone gave away that he wasn't quite sure.

Euterpe flipped her head to towards the sky and made a large groan, almost like a dissatisfied child. "Ahhhhh."

Shepherd just stood there looking clueless as to who they referring to, but unlike Euterpe he didn't express much emotion.

{Dianne nods in undstanding.}
Dianne: “Oh, I’m sure everything will work out. Once you arrive with the rest of your band, all doubts will be removed.”

{Dianne then turns back to Euterpe, once again, looking concerne.}

Dianne: “Are you ok?”

Arc still looked a bit doubtful, but Pyre grinned, showing two unusually long vampire fangs. 'I'm not /too/ worried. It's just that we rarely get the chance to perform anywhere this good, so I think we're all a little nervous.'

'Stal more than anyone,' said Arc. 'That guy is so high-strung all the time, I'm surprised he can even function.'

He threw a concerned glance at Shepherd and Euterpe as he spoke, hoping they weren't getting overwhelmed by being here. He was starting to become certain that they were originally from a less developed country; they always seemed so confused by the way things here worked.

Dianne: "Yes, this could be your chance to get noticed. Lots of people come through the Tomb on a nightly basis, including music scouts. I guess I can understand why he would be so stressed about this."

Euterpe grunted and then rest her chin on top of Shep's head. Though Shepherd immediately pushed her off.
She gave the group a bored look.
"You've lost us, I don't see what this has to do with food and whether or not it tastes like fish." She snorted impatiently.

"I bet you're lying and all food tastes the same!" She muttered eyeballing Dianne.
Her tone made it hard to tell if she meant it or if it was just sarcasm at play.

{Dianne turned to Euterpe, looking amused.}

Dianne: "Ok, ok, we'll keep moving now. And no, everything does not taste like fish."

@Alk/Xeno

Arc nodded absently. 'Yeah, let's hurry up and get there... Actually, Dianne, would you prefer me to leave? You're doing this for /them./ There's no need to give us free food as well.'

While he was speaking, Pyre said telepathically to him, //What's up with these guys anyway? They seem kinda strange. Where are they from, and is that feathery dragon OK? She doesn't seem too happy, though I can't tell whether she's joking or not.//

Arc shook his head slightly, brushing off the stream of questions. Pyre gave up, and sidled over to walk beside Shepherd instead. 'So, where are you guys from?' he asked, not having the subtlety to realise that they might not want to answer this.

{Dianne just shrugs}
Dianne: "I dont care if you come or not. I wasn't giving you free food anyway. Besides, you and your entire band is coming later."

As Pyre walked over to Shepherd Marco began barking alarmingly. Shepherd shuffled awkwardly and moved a bit away from Pyre.
"Overseas." He said hesitating.

"What's it to you?" Grumbled Euterpe towards Pyre.

'OK, we should probably get going then,' said Arc, nodding. 'I'm sure Stal wants to talk to us all before we come later, anyway.'

Pyre wasn't paying much attention to the other side of the conversation, being focused on Shepherd and Euterpe. 'Well yeah, I guessed that,' he said. 'But overseas WHERE? There's a lot of other countries...'

Arc spoke up quickly. 'Pyre, leave those two alone! If they don't want to discuss it, then that's their business. We need to get going.' He threw an apologetic glance towards Shepherd.

Euterpe stuck her tongue out after Arc called Pyre off.
Shepherd elbowed Euterpe which made her grunt.
"Thank you for everything." Shepherd said smiling to Arc.

{Dianne looked at Euterpe and Shepherd curiously, picking up on their reluctance to speak of their origins.}

Dianne: “Alright. Arc, Pyre, I’ll see you with the rest of your band later today. You two and the dog, follow me.”

'Bye!' said Pyre cheerfully, waving at Shepherd and Euterpe as Arc dutifully pulled him away. 'I'm sure we'll end up running into each other again.'

'Good luck,' said Arc, pausing to look directly at the pair. 'I might not know anything about you, or where you're from, but I hope you manage to settle down here.' He then turned and walked across the street, Pyre following.

'...So,' said Pyre once they were out of the group's earshot. 'Where to now?'

'Now, we should probably go find Stal. And Gray. And Loch.' Arc sighed as he remembered his lack of a phone, wishing he had a better way to keep in touch with people. 'Can you text them and ask if we could all meet up at Gray's house?'

'Sure.'
