I've thought about getting a 3ds but there aren't many nintendo games I'm interested in. It seems like a waste of money just buying a 3ds just for Colors

I wouldn't do it. You have smaller export by default, the colors don't match up as well, etc. It is handy for the 3d effect (but even then most people don't have the 3d tv to view it on, so it is only those looking at the art on the 3ds who would see it), My view is overall it would not be worth it for you if you already have the ipod. What might work for you would be to buy one of the active stylus devices that use an electronic pulse to work with capacitive touch tablets. Some think they work pretty well for that, though there have been issues with parallax and some have wobble on diagonals.

@tall: Yeah, you're right. I don't think it's worth it for me. I might look around for something different though, the ipod has a good responsive screen but they don't seem to last a few years before I start getting problems with the buttons and battery.. and they're expensive to replace or repair.
