burger breakdown by a_moldybananaa

#idkwhattotagthiswith #randomnotes? #advice? #breakdown? #ALMIGHTYMAJESTICBURGER #acctag
trying to give some insight on lighting and whatnot.

it's pretty messy and bad though... :'D

feel free to download this and use the inkdropper (or eyedropper, whatever it's called) on the light and shaded areas-- look at how i jump around on the color wheel.

(i hope you dont mind me using your burger god char for this, radiant & draco)

i wanted to wait til after i posted another thing before posting this

i dont like seeing two of the almost-exact-same pic next to eachother lol need /something/ to break it up a little.

also: i was lazy on this burger pic, there should be faint whitish reflective light on parts of BurgerGod (from the clouds ahd the glowing sparkles) but i skimped on it and didnt add it.

BUT i did add the other important stuff (cool redlective light, etc) and this pic's a fairly clear/easy example of the reflective light stuff so that's why i used it for this.

I think the burger god doesn't mind being used as a shading reference. If anything he's pleased that we learn from him.

But anyways, this is actually helpful, shading like this tends to be difflecult for me. I was thinking of practiceing shading like this again at some point.

If I do you can crirtic it if you want so I can improve in areas.

(Sorry for my mispellings)

*also this pic is done with the assumption you know a smidge about color theory (know about warm and cool colors, at least)

i would type a crappy quick explanation thing on it but i really dont feel like it so look in #birdytutorial instead, birdy posted GudStuff to check out and learn from if you want.

re:

Yea that post on your main be flooding with comments! You should really just make a post on there for replys.

Really? I'm glad you think so! It means alot hearing that from you. :]
It was kinda hard to find the right colors to blend with and such. But you're right the more I do it the better I'll get.

Now that I think of it, I have like, three differnet ways I shade depending on the drawing lol

Ooh this is nice! And the Burger Sun God doesn't mind, haha.

I'm too lazy to do more complex shading like this, I tend to do simple cell-shading, but this is still pretty interesting and insightful.

Though I guess this is more about lighting than shading, and I do enjoy working with lighting effects.
