i just realized/thought of something
although i meant to do another ref pic of your griff boy (im guessing oswald is the name youre gonna stick with?) of his ungulate (pony) form, i think it's unlikely ill do it anytime soon at this point so:
he's a bay "appaloosa" (not really an appaloosa but that's what the spotted coloring's most known as. proper term is "leopard complex" or just "spotted")
looking up "bay appaloosa" and scouring around should turn up some pics that show how bay appies look.
i cant recall what his spot pattern is called right now though :(
there are like 5 known/named spot patterns in leopard horses.
