Reply: Well, I used to go straight to lineart too. But then I saw how artists were drawing with sketches, and started trying to do it as well. At first I wasn't so good. But I kept trying! And I also realized that it became easier to get the proportions and poses down, as well as everything else. Once you have a sketch, you add a new layer for the lineart, and once you've got that down, you may delete the sketch layer. And it's not just for realism, FYI.
