oooh it's really cool that you've joined the gallery and started posting! always nice seeing CS members post. :^) welcome to the gallery!
im not the best with giving tips/explaining things but i do know some good helpful posts on here i can point you in the direction of: @birdy's advice/tutorial stuff. #btp2
off of colors, ive seen a bunch of helpful stuff on dA. there're all kinds of advice things by a user called "nsio" and when i found his posts years ago they opened my eyes to things. "purplekecleon" is another user whose advice post helped open my eyes to things back in 2OI3 and that post of theirs was "How I See Color: A Tutorial"
definitely check nsio & kecleon out whenever you have the chance (and can remember to, if youre forgetful like me lol), i think their work will help you a good bit like it helped me!
