GENERAL INFO:

Caelum is divided into five different regions - North, East, South, West, and Central.

In casual conversation, most people refer to these regions as NC, EC, SC, WC, and CC.

The city does not have a King or Queen; instead, each region is governed by a different mayor. There are four mayors in total, as Central Caelum does not have one, but is instead governed by the mayor of NC.

They generally get along well, and there have never been any major disputes. Caelum has been living under this system for the last 200 years, since its last royal family was unexpectedly wiped out, leaving the city without a monarch.

NC is the quietest and most peaceful region, considered the best place for raising families.

EC is the best place for entertainers to make a living, with countless theatres, concert halls, nightclubs, bars, comedy venues, and pretty much any other place you could think of.

SC has the largest population of all the regions, and is often the busiest one.

WC is the 'poor' area of the city. It's cheap to live here, but with a high crime rate and lack of job opportunities, it can be hard to live here unless you're a skilled criminal.

CC is the smallest region and is where some of the richest citizens live. In its centre lies a magnificent castle - however, as Caelum hasn't had a royal family in over 200 years, the castle is simply a monument from history. It is currently owned by a rich family.

POINTS OF INTEREST:

Seaview Park - the largest 'green' area in the city; it's a lightly forested park where many locals like to go to relax. Sometimes fairs, markets and other events are held here.

Stone Arch Square - situated near the main gates, this is a large shopping district where you can buy almost anything if you know where to look.

Sunrise Harbour - the place where ships of all sorts come and go. It's usually a busy place, since every ship that arrives in or departs from Caelum has to do so from here.

I might draw a map showing the rest of Aether (this country), but only if it becomes relevant. For now, all you need to know is that Caelum is the only big city in Aether and everything beyond it is mostly farmland, countryside and small towns. X)
