Simon's initial reaction to finding out he's past the point of no return would be pure shock and terror, especially because becoming a Nightmare is one of his biggest fears...

In a frenzy of emotion he would seek out someone he trusts and get them to keep Berry away from him at any cost so he wouldn't hurt her, then he would get as far from them as he could and sever his link with Berry.

He'd later try to kill himself before he could turn into a Nightmare but would be unsuccessful in doing so, the Light Eater in him would have just enough of an influence over him to keep him from doing something that drastic.

So he'd be stuck slowly dying and knowing he's going to turn into a monster...

Luckily, because Simon's a paranoid fellow and gets Berry to check his Heart Reflection a lot more often than the average Dreamer, this isn't likely to happen unless he's attacked and forcibly turned into a Nightmare. But he's a weakling that's a very easy target...

Re) Sorry for late reply, had a rough passed two days. Anyway, I'm a big fan of the Legacy of Kain games (except blood omen 2 lol), and the true selling point of the games is the story lol Gameplay is solid but nothing to write hone about, it's not buggy, it feels good to control, not repetitive but, just also not very inspired mechanically. That's not to say the games are boring. They're not a grind at all, especially since the story keeps you invested lol. The story, characters, writing, and voice acting (with the exception of the first two games, though it's just the voice acting that's not good, everything else is good. And the voice acting is quite good in soul reaver 2 and legacy of kain defiance lol). I think you can pick up soul reaver 1, 2, and defiance on Fantatical for very cheap assuming you have a pc. Also not too overpriced on steam, and you could get them free with roms and emulators, again assuming you have a pc. If not you're only options to play are dreamcast for soul reaver, ps1 for blood omen legacy of kain and soul reaver, and ps1 for soul reaver 2 and defiance. If you just want the story you can also find compliations of the story cutscenes from all 4 on youtube lol (I dont say all 5 because again blood omen 2 was bad and also doesnt really fit in the timeline lol)
