I think its because they were drawn by the same people who did Vaati. Plus the cape, peek-a-boo bang, and white hair. But beyond that, they aren't similar.

they does't have the same hair... ghirahim has short hairs whereas vaati has long hairs.Sure,they have locks but they are not the same at all.and Vaati doesn't have white hair.he has...light purple/grey hair!!xD the clothes are not the same at all except for they have both yellow belt with a red jewel and a cape but they aren't similar too.T_T and they doesn't have the same eyes at all, it's just my style of eyes!^v^ and ghirahim'skin is darker than vaati's.and finally...yes,they have a black tatoo in their eyes,BUT THEY ARE NOT SIMILAR!!!xD

Vaati has blue clothes, ghirahim has white clothes. YES, they have hair on their eye, YES, they have a belt with a red jewel on it, YES, they kidnaped Zelda, fight Link but it's normal: every LoZ's villain did that! THEY ARE NOT SIMILAR AT ALL.

You guys are so funny. The similance between these two is very little. A slight similarity between clothing-accessories and slightly similar skin tone. Apart from that they're complete opposites.
They have different personalities and I think Ghirahim is somewhat kinder and more emotional than Vassi. Also Ghirahim is MUCH COOLER. I believe Ghirahim was the best villain yet.
As my last statement, Ghirahim's eyes are completely black, if not a dark shade of deep purple. The other has red eyes. And dont anyone forget that Ghirahim wears an awesome blue, crystal earring. That implies he has a liking for style.
