Lamia way back when Nightmare's were learning to disguise themselves and be more deceptive.
She was one of the first to mimic the King, though she'd never credit him for it.
Unlike Mal though, she quickly gave it up, mainly because the heavy smoke in the bars is uncomfortable when you're a Frost Nightmare.
I spent too much time on this...
