an attempt to make an "organic" version of drift, aka he's not a robot
a lot of his features kindaaa stay the same, but he's obviously not a robot now
i wasn't sure whether the horn should be an actual horn on his head or simply just a part of a helmet, but i went with helmet since the only actual mobian beetle i have for reference is jewel from idw, and she doesnt got a horn.. but then again shes also a girl, so logically she wouldnt (i think)

so when i was designing drift (normal/robot boi), i never looked at ref's for jewel (only mobian beetle so far i think) cuz i didnt know she existed at the time, and just
somehow, someway, i nailed how drift's wings work spot on
because heckin jewel's wings are handled in an incredibly similar if not the same way, which i didnt know until looking her up
also, namely tried to make this for drift cuz of a sonic forms challenge my friend did/is doing on discord with king sonic, i wanted to do the same and one of the prompts was "robot", which for drift would be inversed to be "organic" or smth like that
so ye
sorry if i explained that poorly lol
drift's head crest/things that stick out on the side of his head is supposed to be hair of sorts here
smth like this is probs never happening canonically but eh here ya go lol
