ok so if you've played or heard of final fantasy tactics before, the dream was basically a game that played extremely similarly to that
the plot involved some sort of cursed statue that was like,,,, i want to say the baby of a royal family from several centuries back, the bab was turned into a statue due to having some sorta legendary power that would either save the world or completely wipe it out
and the statue went missing for ages until whenever the heck this dream took place
this sorta rogue lookin guy found the statue in this big city marketplace area and had stolen it from some merchant, who'd not known it was the legendary stone baby
.. it was referred to as the stone baby the entire time in my dream which is making me laugh remembering it
thus, a chase occurred and eventually, these soldiers from.. idk, the royal castle? /somewhere/ went after the rogue, who was off to the back of the marketplace where this very large church lookin building was

he hid the baby in the church and rallied up a small group of his frens, which were.. pretty much nothing compared to the soldiers
sometime near the start of the fight tho, the stone baby reacted to smth in the church and abruptly turned into a sorta young, blonde haired boy, maybe around 9 or I0
and so he went outside of the church confused and upon being spotted by the soldiers they thought he was just a normal kid being held hostage so they wanted to capture him
the rogue leader guy literally screeched at the kid to go back inside, but the kid just decided to heckin
grab a stick to try and fend for himself
and then, this pair of interesting fellas arrived
one was a wizard guy cloaked in this reflective blue cloak, aka the guy i drew in the picture
his companion was a sorta angel looking cleric/white mage/priestly girl
the instant they arrived and saw the conflict, the rogues started panicking, and one of the lesser grunts grabbed the kiddo from before and hid in the church

teal guy told the angel girl to investigate the church while he went and dealt with all the conflict; she agreed and prepared a spell to teleport inside while the teal guy took two g i a n t floaty leaps across the plaza to land towards the middle of the fighting
meanwhile, the confused kiddo, who was being hidden in a closet by the rogue, started bawling and was absolutely terrified, and he was crying and his tears were like,, all glowy and stuff
and then these passive stone statues outside started reacting to this or somethin, because they suddenly came to life and proceeded to instantly y e e t some of the soldiers and rogues via death lasers
wizard guy noticed this and was concerned abt somethin, proceedinh to use barriers to try and restrain all 3 sides of this wacky conflict, but the statues broke through easily and went after him
the first rogue guy from before proceeded to chop off the heads of the most dangerous statues, leaving some of em dead but some of em kept moving

sometime shortly after that there was this hilarious exchange between the wizard and the rogue
wiz: "I need you to explain yourself; we're here for the stone baby. Where is it?" (this is sorta paraphrased since i never remember dialogue well)
rogue: "WHY'S IT SO IMPORTANT TO YA?!"
wiz: "It's a legendary statue that may ruin this world if it's in the wrong ha-"
rogue: "Yada, yada, yada, shut it, I'm tryin not to die here!"
the rogue just barely avoids a death laser from another statue, and chops its head off. the wizard catches the chopped off head
wiz: "Is one of these statues the stone baby?"
rogue: "DUDE. IT'S A F.UCKING STATUE, GET YOUR HEAD STRAIGHT!"
wiz: ". . ."
after that lil exchange, there werent many statues left to defeat so the soldiers went after the remaining rogues, trying to arrest them
wiz guy noticed the soldiers actin a bit suspicious, so he specifically tried to stop them with a barrier cage

meanwhile, angel girl had been in the church for a lil while and had to fend off another series of rogues
she'd succeeded and was now lookin for the lil kid from before, and she found him hiding in a closet, no longer crying but clearly scared
the dream gets rlly vague after that, but i think she took the kid and calmed him down, while wiz yeeted the soldiers outside
i dont rlly remember what happened after that, so i guess that's the end of the dream

but yeah

i still remember the characters surprisingly well so i might draw more of em

also just a note: despite how long this explanation is, the dream itself was pretty short lmao

that's a neat dream though, when you mentioned a church-y place i imagined it taking place in an area in acre in the first assassin's creed-
