banded mantis, also known as death's steed.
this is a revisit to/revamp of a random mantis species i doodled/made up back in 2OI7, i named them banded mantis back then for their stripes/bands.
these would be rideable as if they were a horse, their elytra are extremely tough and able to withstand a heavy load of weight, although they wouldnt be able to fly while carrying someone.

Oooh, I'm not a bug fan, but praying mantis (mantids?) are an exception for me, these things look like incredibly cool mounts XD
