For your first try it really isnt that bad!

But for some pointers to make the nebulas look 'better' use the eraser on low opacity and ease the outter areas. It gives it a cool misty affect that makes it look more like a nebulas look more realistic.

And nother thing to make em' look prettier is to add lighter areas in the nebulas with more clusters of stars in it!

It's not bad at all! I recommend instead of starting with a dark-purple flat bg, start with a dark purple and add/blend with the black airbrush a little, idk but for me it just seems to add a tad more depth :0
I also recommend using a darker ver. of whatever color you want your galaxy to be to start with, and then slowly increase the saturation as you read the center where it all seems to cluster. Also sometimes using a lighter color in the very very center of the cluster looks nice sometimes (especially with blue.) I also find normally there seems to be more stars visible towards the center of the galaxy opposed to the black of outer space. :0
You might want to blend in the outer edges of the galaxy as well, as it stands this is suuuper pretty but I do think it's a tad too saturated and the galaxies are a tiny bit too big- But this is still sosososo pretty and super great for a first try, I can't wait to see more!!
