What led up to that moment was escaping to Earth after being oppressed by (an alien) law enforcement for over three decades.
Comy/ Stara (right) had spoken out against the invasion of Earth to her alien leaders, asking to preserve life on Earth. When the highest officials refused to consider her request, she caused a commotion, and was caught. She was locked up for four years (which was seventy years for her on the planet she was locked up on because it's rotation was faster). Rhearn eventually rescued her when [when she was about to be executed]-- at the cost of a life: Yumi (a close family friend).

Rhearn and Stara are apart of a cast of characters (about seventy characters) I dropped in '14 when I joined colorslive. After five years, I'm returning back to them to flesh out their characters. They take place around the mid seventies to 2090. Than, their children take over an a post apocalyptic world in 2135. They're a new generation.
There's a lot behind that picture, but I'll be drawing more of them. I like to call my old characters the "Heroes Era," and my colorslive characters the "Colors Universe/ Era" (On a rare occasion, I call the Colors Univese, the "Molly Era," since Stara and Molly mirror each other a lot)
