first off, some out of order pictures that are hopefully captioned and not upside-down/sideways https://imgur.com/a/FOoXBI7 this will probably end up being a huge ramble so sorry lol i just like talking (or in this case typing?)
gosh it feels like forever since i've been able to sit in my own room and relax. ohio northern's music camp was stressful yet fun as it was last year and it felt like i was actually able to make sorta friends?? also had two breaks so that was nice then like right after we had a family reunion, and if yall don't already know i cannot stand my dad's side of the family for the life of me. soo it wasn't the best time
we went on a roadtrip out to montana to visit my mom's side of the family. the first half was me, my mom, and my brothers. marshall scheduled a bunch of really dumb stops (the volkswagen beetle spider being the only one i bothered to get a picture of) so me and adam had some sibling bonding time by being annoyed by stopping for a rooster in a top hat and ignoring each other while we waited for my mom to use a phone camera. we went through the black hills to revisit some things after so long and let me tell you it's cool but damn crazy horse has /not changed!/ they won't take government funding so it's been in the works since about 1943ish and is barely completed
(gonna move to a new comment b/c it feels like the limit is shrinking)
the main other reason we went on this trip is so i could do some college visits so we went to the university of montana in missoula! it's very promising - campus is small and mostly sidewalks and missoula itself only takes about 15 minutes to drive from one end to the other. the art prof gave us a tour and informed me that 1. you don't need a portfolio to be accepted 2. i need to work on depth in my art so if anyone has tips on incorporating characters into the background and things like foreshortening that would be very helpful!! we didn't get to meet the cello prof but we heard many great things about him from the violin prof, who we met up with instead. she's very sweet and they have a summer strings program i'll probably be doing next year. overall it looks like this hologram miiight be a grizzly (insert bear emoji here lmao)
the second half of the trip wasn't as exciting, we went to glacier of course but it's always a freaking zoo. i love glacier, it's gorgeous, but geezzzums they can't deal with the amount of people that come. we got denied entry to a few places and the roads desperately need fixing we also went horseback riding for 3 hours and i had pulled all the muscles in my leg getting up and then the stirrup wouldn't let my foot in :") everything hurt and we had to cancel the trip to montana state university in boseman but i did get an email back from admissions and am trying to be in contact with the main art and music profs there. again no portfolio requirement which is awesome for me but otherwise not much happened. i saw a statue that looked like ganondorf's corpse from the botw2 trailer so that was cool??
other than that we did a lot of driving,, like a lot of it,, and i picked up cadence of hyrule and omg yall it's so good,, my seed hecked me over though and i can't get the last piece of heart
