Here's some concepts for his redesign, his frills can fully open like Azalea's and there are vents under there (Like you see on the top left headshot)
Or you can not give him frills, though parts of his body would be frilled like you see on the bottom with his back, ribs and tail.
Feel free to mix & match him to your liking. Also feel free to use Azalea as an example too, he is a descendant of her
These are chibi-ish versions, you can make his limbs a little longer if you want to.

I've been thinking about both him and the Xanos girl you gave me for a while now... I have ideas for personalities for them, but, of course, names are what really stump me.
I do have a few questions, if you don't mind me sticking 'em here... What kind of foliage is there in Xarveidore? Would this guy be able to camouflage, or would he stick out like a green thumb? In dark places, would his appearance change like Azalea's, or is that an ability specific to her?
Also, about how big do Nature Variants get?
