No, draw our own characters in not true.I have a comic serie with my own characters and I have only 1 to 10 likes. I saw someone in the weak´s best with poppular character. mario, goomba ,boo, etc. and he got more than one hundred likes!!! I dont draw so bad! some say im really good at drawing and they dont understand why I´d never be in the weak´s best!

I dont see why traced who take 2 minutes have more like than my comic serie original. I took more than six hundred hours on colors! 3d!

dear alex, like I said, if your art is good enough it probably won't get TONNES of views as soon as you post them, it takes time, try to get ppl u know to like it for a head start :)

colors 3D doesnt have this so "popular list" just art, there is no share or like'ing' of the artist. so dont bring this popular stuff hu! user popularity isnt fare to the rest of the users.// i think of colors as site to draw wnatever you want and upload whatever you want seen for public opinions, not for "gotta post this for my fans so they dont think im dead" nah nah nah anyomous all the way

This, as well as the star explainations, have been the most helpful paintings I have seen since on Colors!. Yeeaaah, I sorta haven't followed that religion rule, but I don't regret putting it in the gallery.

Thanks. Though I think I'm an ok artist but some of my art has very few stars, still not giving up though because I like drawing. I noticed comedy is a popular subject to draw too.

I've got a perfect drawing of phoenix wright in my gallery, that has no likes or comments, I spend 40 percent of my time on colors on the new paintings page, I have a O.C and...My painting with the MOST likes, has 5 likes. *sigh*

Okay, this is just sad. People that care that much about popularity are losers. I mean, seriously, this is an online gallery to express themselves, not to get likes on sh!t that they arent even proud of. people who do tutorials trying to help other people create better are the best of the best to me. But a tutorial on being popular?!?! Its sad.

Question! What if you drew something in real life, and you want to put it on Colors, but your too lazy so you trace it? Is that okay, cause all my stuff IRL is orignal and I would like to put it on here, but I'm too lazy to redo it all.

You know what the gallery really loves? Recognizing things! That does not only mean that pop-cultural stuff will get you more likes, having a recognizable series or artstyle will increase your popularity as well (having an OC is not that important in that matter). Why else do you think (although undoubtebly cool) elemental Pokéb.alls are occupying Week´s Best for the last few weeks? Tracing will usually get you a short lived popularity because most people get tired of it after a while. Uploading irregularly or with varying quality while being recognizable may increase the number of likes you get once your pictures reach week´s best but don´t expect many people to wait until your next painting comes out...

I think that this might drastically decrease the flexibility of this app... It shows however that this app really needs a lot better Community-features... Given the anarchic randomness of the Gallery and the huge amount of c**p that especially floods "New Paintings", people are trying to follow their favorite artists and pick out the stuff they recognize. It has become to big and too developed to work with these simple tools. If the gallery allowed us to do these things by default, we wouldn´t have to spend so much effort in, and could use the time gained to look out for other stuff... But that´s just a theory...

Oh, and by "getting tired of tracing" I mean the artists who usually lose interest in doing so after a while...

Hmm. If your the type of person that really wants to be famouse then this might be the place for you to get tips. I disagree to a certain level with your view on religiouse paintings. You see, if you draw a really awesome painting of Jesus or Our Lady then christian or not you will like it because of the quality or style. There was a pic that was insanely popular. It was a pixilated drawing of Mary, St. Joseph, and Baby Jesus and EVRYONE loved it. Now, if you draw a pic saying " God loves you " then it might be popular. It has happened before but it usualy doesn't go down too well with non christians. ( things like fights and rude comments saying " **** the Bible! That was a real comment. " ) It really just depends on what type of religiouse drawing and at what time you draw and uploade it.

XP thanks! And I totally agree, it's totally fine to draw religious stuff (I'm Christian too) but it's not like people are going to get converted over Colors. And I personally just don't try to convert people. Unless they need it desperately... But I don't judge other people for having other religions either, so... ya you get my point. X3
