Waite a minute. Where's the pizza? I can't find it anywhere. It's like "Where's Waldo?" Only here, I really can't find that darn pizza. :) I see something that may be a block of cheese but, I can't be sure. lol! You'll have to explain this one to me.
hehe i just saw your "block of cheese".. it was a sticker. would be a very odd (unsanitary) place for the cheese.. looks better as cheese actually ;p
It's a small italian takeaway place near us.. looks like a 3-generation-inclusive family business!
Hahahahaha! Oh goodness. You mean to tell me that's not a block of cheese on a shelf? It's only a sticker? So, does the sticker contain some industrial information important to the well being of anyone using the equipment? Or, does it say, "Call this number in case of such and such scenario such as electric shock or something?"
Hahahahahahahahaha! Hmmm, maybe you should try Lens Crafters. They sell contacts as well as glasses. That is assuming you need 'em. If not, I'm sorry. :) How far were you from the oven in question? From the angle you look to have been sitting rather than standing. I tried my hand at on location painting today. Waite a minute. I've got twenty three minutes to get to work. I'll finish this tomorrow. Ciao for now. :)
Like I was saying. I tried to paint on my DS at the mall. The lights were too bright and I couldn't judge whether the colors were right or not. So, I put it away. And I pulled out my trusty sketch pad and mechanical pencils to do some sketches. Later the same day, I went to the bookstore and there met a young woman who has inspired me to create more. She has a nice voice for cartoon voice over acting. I met another young woman as result of her overhearing the conversation I was in in with the first one who's also an artist. And, she's into anime and manga as well. It is so cool to meet like minded people in person. I should go to the anime conventions in this area instead of only desiring to go to the San Diego Comic Con International. I need to meet some local anime and manga artists in my own area to hang out with. That would be so nice. Unfortunately, I have only online friends who I can talk to about these things. That's not a bad thing mind you; just not the ideal thing. :)
How do you paint in high light conditions when there's a glare on the DS Lite screens? What are your suggestions? I would really like to paint on location especially when I find subjects I really want to paint.
ha good thing i waited, that was a monster ;)
Yes! awesome to meet people like that! (especially in small cities where the circles are easy to get into) a couple of friends that i had a small exhibition with have started a local sketchgroup on facebook. it meets pretty much weekly but anyone is welcome to announce an event. I thought "oh yeah nice small thing" but it has over a hundred 'members' now. The meetings are still quite small, but you meet someone new every time.
Drawing in public places like bookstores etc (even streets) is a good way to attract artists ;p
I have a DSiXL but the glare is the same. It is impossible in bright sunlight - have to find deep shade. I get weird colours when i draw in the dark too, like a jazz club (pretty nifty when you wouldn't be able to see paper at all). The only tip i have so far for glare is to wear a soft, light-absorbing black shirt/jacket so you can tilt to reflect dark patches. Not perfect, but useful.
Thank you for the tips on painting on location. I guess I'll have to start wearing black more often. Although, where I live that's not a viable option most of the year. Only during the couple of months of cool, (not cold but, cool) weather would that be an option. But, I will try it. I live in one of the hottest state in the US. I'm not gonna say which one but, it's a hot one. And, I'm not even from here. I lived fourteen years in a state that is cool most of the year and very cold during the winter months. So, I don't really like it that much here. Bummer. :( I'll paint something on location and post it here soon.
you're welcome.. i wish i had more tips, but i've only had the thing 2 months. First 2 months of winter. I'm in australia, so it'll be interesting trying to take my own advice as it gets warmer - i usually wear white long sleeve outdoors.. i have black singlets though. We shall see ;)

I was wondering why I had not seen a pizza in there. Is this a local hang out? Restaurant perhaps?
