you probably feel that way because you draw in your signature "scratchy"/sketchy style most of the time and have it rather refined. if you drew "normally" for a bit and begin to refine it and your approach to doing it, you wouldnt feel like it downgrades your work.
...or, atleast, that's how i see it :p
