Answer: no

Fairfin will bond with other species other than Dreamers, however Dreamers are the Fairfin primary preferred Bond partner

Fairfin were made to bond with Dreamers, its more natural for them to want to bond with a Dreamer but on some occasions they will Bond with other species as long as that species has adequate light magic for them to absorb from that individual.

Question:
-Can a Fairfin bond to an unwilling partner (ex. A stubborn Dreamer fawn)

Answer: yes

However this is rare that they themselves will Force themselves to bond with someone that doesn't want to, but if it's in a life and death situation for the other person, then the Fairfin will do it.

Force themselves to bond with someone that doesn't want to, take a lot out of the Fairfin, in a normal bond the individual and Fairfin met their energy halfway to bond, its painless and the two suffer no drawbacks but with a force bond the Fairfin will do all the work and take the full responsibility of forming the bond on themselves, the Fairfin has to work much harder with their energy until they're unwilling partner eventually accepts them.

Question:Would a Fairfin ever abandon or betray their bond partner?

Answer: yes

However this is extremely, extremely, extremely, extremely rare or depends upon the situation

In the case of a Fairfin betraying their partner it usually revolves around, if the Dreamer is suffering from Nightmare syndrome and if the Dreamer tell their Fairfin not to tell anyone they have it, its rare but sometimes the Fairfin will disobey their partner and go seek help and tell someone about their Dreamer condition so in a way they have betrayed their partner but in hope to save them.
Fairfin are almost stupid loyal to their bond partner, they are incredibly devoured to their bond partner that even if their Dreamer partner becomes a Nightmare they will more times than not serve the Nightmare like they are their Dreamer partner.
Forgotten are delusional and well believe that the Nightmare is either their Dreamer or they believe they still hope in saving their Dreamer some how.
Fairfin were made to protect the Dreamer from Nightmare syndrome and when they failed, they kinda lose it, they become emotionally unstable and delusional

Its rare but sometimes if their Dreamer partner is pass the point of no return, their Fairfin might cut their link with their partner the this is extremely rare because as soon as the Fairfin does this the Dreamer goes down hill extremely fast, the Nightmare syndrome takes hold 3 times faster so a Fairfin will usually stay bonded with their partner even to the Bitter End.

There are other occasions where a Fairfin will abandon their partner if they are committing acts of evil willingly, Fairfin are made of light and good magic, and if their partner is going evil on their own without the influence of corruption and the Fairfin can't persuade them to change their ways then the Fairfin will abandon their partner.

However most the time if a Dreamer is willing doing evil, they are pretty much just handing the light Eater themselves and they become Nightmare, this is one of the reasons why its believe Nightmare are just evil vision of Dreams as all Dreamer who are evil become Nightmares
(But this wasn't the case before the curse of the Nightmares was on the Dreamer kind...)
