Shark Tooth Fairy by YeNa

Another family request.. My 6 yr old cousin went to visit the massive aquarium and was amazed to discover how many rows of teeth sharks have (and shed). Her mother thought the sharks' tooth fairy would be very tired.. I think she would have a lucrative jewelry business in the tourist industry (and a massive underwater tower). I fussed around with details for too long because i was tired haha

YeNa, this is a great painting. I've never really thought all that much about this concept at all but, this is a very logical fantasy piece that when I consider it I think to myself, "Why didn't I think about this sooner? It makes perfect sense." lol. :D If parents tell their children about the tooth fairy who comes at night to take their teeth that have fallen out of their mouths and to give them candy or money in their place. Why not one for sharks? I like it. I'm not really into fantasy and what it represents but, this is an interesting subject worth exploring further in any of the visual arts. Keep up the [great work.]

thanks inque! i'm glad it got you thinking, it was certainly an interesting conversation.. i especially love the fact that a shark's skin is made of tiny scales of dentine.. essentially: sharks are MADE OF TEETH.

They're more streamlined that way. I viewed the painting and it's upside down. Don't sweat it. Colors! Draw will remedy that issue offline. Also, I look forward to seeing your next paintings. :)
