Grief by SilverSpirits

Zeharu aren't heartless beasts, they experience love and loss throughout their lives.

Eiro is one who knows this best, she fell so deeply in love with Kai. The two were madly in love with each other, it never faltered or faded over the near two thousand years they new each other.

They had their fights, their arguments, of course they did. It wasn't a common occurrence or often, but they happened and after a few hours of cooling off. The two would make up in the end, they always did.

Eiro and Kai were strong together, the two couldn't be beat, they even managed to chase of Raven a few times.

Raven is a bitter Zeharu, his whole existence is revenge and anger. Everytime Kai and Eiro beat him off, he only got more angry, becoming more mad, with the sole desire for revenge.

But he was patient, he waited for the perfect opportunity to strike and he got it one day...

Zeharu are quick to care about others, not all variants, Nightmares are always the worst.

Darkness variants are the quickest to care, surprisingly. But that's why they're often loners/outcasts. They don't want to risk a broken heart.

As seen with Eiro above

This was a time, in which Kai had just been killed and she thought their newborn had been killed too.

Eiro let grief take hold of her for over a hundred years, she had tried to take her life, but couldn't. Her survival instinct was too strong and there was always this nagging voice in the back of her mind, telling her not to.

A royal variant needs sunlight to stay strong and healthy, as seen above, Eiro had stayed out of it. Black veins covered her belly, thighs, streamers and her gold hearts. Her hair color faded to a dull color and she lost an unhealthy amount of weight (though that last part was due to not eating)

Her skin had even become pale and sickly.

Eiro was fine wasting away, she didn't see a reason to fight. She thought there was no one was there for her and she had lost everything.

That was until Orion and Soul started to come to the royal's palace and "visit"

The two of them showed up every day, sometimes they even spent the night. The two of them would chatter, loudly. Use her kitchen, pester her with questions, so on and so forth. Which greatly annoyed Eiro. She wanted so badly to kick them out, but she was really sick. Her voice barely a whisper and her body weak from lack of sunlight.

She started to get better with them there. Solely because they were getting on her last nerves. Eiro wanted to rip both their throats out.

Even when she got well enough to chase them, they kept coming back and sometimes with others. Mika, Noxaura, Jeremiah, so on and so forth...

And after sometime, Eiro had forgotten her grief, she was so focused on them, that she had let go of her misery and would even laugh when she managed to catch someone.

Of course, occasionally, the grief and pain will rear its ugly head. But Eiro keeps moving forward, trying not to look back, with the help of Soul, Orion and the others.

And once she found out her son wasn't dead, she found a new resolve...
