[Lobo]

After Mal learned his painful lesson that you don't go messing with Judas's dreams, the two didn't speak to each other much for a while, in that time frame Malice had to do things on his own.

Mal didn't go back to the shadowhunter for his next alias, Omen still hung around them and he was trying to avoid the outcast but also Void had been working his claws in the growing shadowhunter organization.

Instead Mal went a different route, he took the alias name of lobo, which is a Spanish name for wolf.

As Omen was training Mal to be a hero from storybook characters, Mal keep picking out the villains that he wanted to impersonate instead but Judas keep telling him those are the bad guys and the hero always beat the bad guys so if he wanted to live he had to pretend to be a hero...but as Mal got smarter he discovered the anti-hero...

if he was going to have a alternate ego he wanted that one, the cool edgy one

With Mal free from Judas's guidance, Lobo became a mercenary as his alternate ego.

Lobo was Malice's most rebellious, rugged, edgy disguise and was the complete opposite of Lovett

Personality-wise, logo was cocky, arrogant, narcissistic, sarcastic and just a complete jerk, he used more curse words in a sentence then actual words.

Mal pretty much was a copy and paste of the stereotype bad boy anti-hero That everyone loves! Including Malice and other lazy Nightmares!

This is pretty easy and more natural of a Nightmare , because a light Eater copy a Dreamer memory and their negative emotions, meaning any deep dark thoughts the Dreamer had, the light Eater now had access to, the Dreamer may have never acted upon them or maybe it was just a thought of temptation that they pushed aside and never touched again, but a Light Eater would latched onto those and focus on them, turning those negative ideas into reality.... mocking the Dreamer former self more because nobody wants their deep dark side exposed.

This genre of alter egos is the most common of alter identities, it's easier to pull off and far more natural for a Nightmare, they can keep their dark edginess and still be accepted into society, as long as they can pull off the mysterious backstory because there is none, scowling in the back corner with the menacing glare, communication with grunts and short sarcastic lines, and you can even beat people up if they annoy you, if you can handle that your good to go!

Because come on, who want to spend countless years training to control themselves and faking emotions they don't even understand? That just a annoying, pretending to be a hero that just lame and not cool at all, having to be a nice guy and be civil when you rather just kill the person that's just preposterous!, why do all that when the edgy is so much more cooler and easier?

....but really, how long do you think that would fool people? It might have for a while but nothing screams Nightmare then the dark edgy menacing type, people were going to catch on...

Lobo backstory was...well Mal didn't make one, that the best part with this kind of Alter ego, can leave it vague for the mysterious aspect, that why mercenary, thugs, thieves, bounty hunters, ruffians, the lone Wolf, all make excellent alter egos!

No need in putting the effort into making a believable backstory, with one of these alter ego mystery is part of perks!

It gives the Nightmare plenty of opportunity to disappear and commend horrible Nightmare crimes and come back as their alternate ego and no one ever get suspicious! Because that just what happens with these alter egos.

Yeah, you really think no one would ever get suspicious of the disguised Nightmare just disappearing and then reports of a massacre and then they shows up again?or if members of that organization the disguised Nightmare joined are found murdered do to the Nightmare jealousy and greed, Not suspicious in the slightest... come on people are not all that dense headed ]

Why would a Nightmare even want to be associated with one of these genres? Because even these genres usually have some guild or organization to them, information is power and by being a part of one of these groups they could gain access to information or skills that could not be obtained elsewise.

But like I mentioned in my sarcastic post, they are still organizations meaning there is still rules, and rules normally clash with Nightmares...

Back to Mal

Mal hung around bars and pick up smoking to better sale that he was a hard core mercenary.... Even though smoking dose nothing to a Nightmare, what actually is a good thing... they don't suffering the bad drawbacks of smoking like stamina loss and poor circulation because their frame no longer has it's original lungs and their body has a higher resistance level to substance of addiction ( thanks Shoji )

Smoking has no affect on them... Unless if there a Frost then smoking uncomfortable because smoke is hot and don't do well with cold, but other than that, smoking is absolutely pointless to a Nightmare, it's just monkey see monkey do with them or if their former selves smoked it might have been a habit the Nightmare adopted like Mal did with Faolan's alcoholism

In the few years Mal posed as Lobo, he learned the way of the mercenaries operated, how they did jobs and what they did about dark creatures

However in this time era some of the young Nightmares who were attempting their hand at deception where discovered... It's not easy trying to be undercover, especially depending on what genre of alter identity they chose... A lot of young Nightmare pop under the pressure, revealing their true identity or using dark magic. It was now becoming aware that Nightmare could suppress their darkness and appear, people were catching on and word were spreading about the Nightmare new hunting strategies and new actions were taking place to combatant then.

Malice's himself goofed up more then once as Lobo, he didn't have Omen there to keep him in check and thought having the alter ego of a mercenary was easy...it was to easy, Malice got comfortable and show his Nightmare colors more then a few times, usually he would just kill all the witnesses but even the mercenaries have a way of running things and we're looking into suspicious things themselves.

It also didn't help that a lot of Nightmares went down this edgy disguise ego path, turning it into a hotspot for investigations, a lot of Nightmares in that era hunted in their territory and very close to home, making it easier for investigations to pinpoint the suspect and their true identity...

It wasn't long before the shadowhunter were looking into things, and even after Lobo knowing he was a Nightmare, however they didn't know he was Malice, nonetheless Mal was in tight spot, he was surrounded and getting desperate, he avoided using his true Nightmare form known if he did his entire scheme would be foiled because everyone would know Malice the king of Nightmares had alternate forms, making griffin shapeshifter on the hot list to keep an eye on, as that is what Malice's favorite alternate forms is.

Lobo did however reveal his human and Griffin form as Nightmare but things we're not looking good for Mal, in fact if Omen didn't show up and save Mal, he would have ether shift to his true form then tormented form or he would have been killed, ether way Omen bailed him out of a serious problem.

Omen was with the shadowhunter who were Hunting Lobo, he had seen how things were going and twisted Fate to have better odds in his favor... He set things up so it appeared that the Shadowhunter killed Lobo, but the body they found belong to a different Nightmare, Nightmare body's breakdown fairly quickly and become a puddle of goo so there no way of a normal person to truly identifying that individual at that point.

After saying Malice, the first thing Omen did was burst into laughter over his alternate disguise, Judas thought it looked ridiculous and that Mal was trying to hard, calling him ' Try hard Mal' Mal ego took a shot once again but even though he didn't say it he was relieved Omen showed up and didn't kill him.

The two we're now at least on talking terms again, and Omen would help Mal set up his new alternate ego.... Under the conditions it was nothing like Lovett...

But there is more to this story... A lot of things we're not know or seen behind the scenes...And there's only one person who fits that bill... Void had a lot to do with things and made certain things come into play to agitate Nightmares in revealing themselves, he was also now involved in the investigation department of the Shadowhunter and helped point out a few things that gives a Nightmare away...

Void since the beginning has always tried to kill Malice but Omen had away step in...

But he wasn't Mal's biggest problem during this era,
It was good that Omen found and save Mal because it wouldn't had been the shadowhunter Malice needed to fear but his mother...Shoji would have took Mal to the woodshed and whooped him and them made him eat soap for choosing to be such a ruffian as Lobo

If you ask why Nightmares nightmares can go down this rebellious path with how strictly mannered Shoji is, you can thank Soledormir, because Sol loves when Kids are rebellious...
