[Urufu ]

Malice's most recent alias and the one he used in Skey is Urufu, which means wolf in Japanese.

Very little of Mal deception was ever shown in Skey, he treated the key Hunters different than normal people and his true identity was discovered extremely fast and after the discovery there was no point in keeping up with the disguise, so here some info on Urufu that you may or may not know.

His full name is Urufu, Sōnton.

Mal having connections with Void and Demise, Mal had easy access to rejoin The Shadowhunters with different alias, wait a couple hundred years so people forget about his previous alias and in the meantime setup for his new one.

Void can easily manipulate records, giving Malice's alias believable backstories with credit, Urufu records would read this.

Before joining the shadowhunter Urufu Sonton was born in Mangetsu one of the four continents of the land of dreams, he was a single child to Erizabesu and Richādo Sonton, both his parents were killed by dark creatures when he was 12 years old, Urufu was rescued by shadowhunter and they took him to an orphanage that was funded by the shadowhunter organization, the young Urufu was determined for justice and to be like the shadowhunter who saved him, he trained at the main institute in Mangetsu to become a shadowhunter.

He trained to hone his speed and skill with a sword, he leaned to use and rely on the different gadgets that the Shadowhunter invented,
he favored support Magic, like healing and buffs but his offensive wasn't too shabby either, using more electricity then fire.

Urufu determination let him to climb the ranks of The Shadowhunters quickly, he especially skilled in investigations and became one of the top Shadowhunters to work directly under the council, which led him to move to Howaito in Crestlydora, we're main headquarters of the shadowhunter is.

After 200 years in the service Urufu had reach the rank of Heavens Blade but he never progressed past that, though Urufu was quite skilled he had a bad luck reputation... There were several missions where Urufu was the only survivor and been a support Magic user that didn't look too good, Urufu was given the nickname 'death wings' because of this reputation that people die under his care then live.

Fun fact: Boreas was the most recent victim of Urufu death wings reputation, the two went on an mission to investigation the missing students that took them to one of Voids labs, the two we're attached by Voids minions, the two try to escape but Boreas gotten injured in the process of teleporting the two we're separated, Boreas was believe to have died and is written in the records that he did, but that wasn't the case he was sent to Senza we're he was in his core form for 3 years recovering before the key Hunters found him. Urufu had return to The Shadowhunters as a solo survivor yet again adding more to his shady reputation.

Mal knew a reputation like that would draw people suspicion, that kind of trauma would affect a normal individual hard, so he play into his own alcoholism and made Urufu a alcoholic to make others believe that how Urufu cope with the stress of the job and the lost of comrades, however Mal knew he couldn't let himself get truly drunk as Urufu because he was undercover and didn't want to expose his identity by accident being wasted, so what Mal did was simply act wasted as Urufu, he had plenty of memories of Faolan's experience been drunk so he played the part well.

Mal had leaned in the past about responsibilities of a Captain and didn't like them, he wanted the power a higher level shadowhunter had but not the responsibilities of a Captain, so Mal work to be a Heavens Blade but gave Urufu traits that would keep him from being a Captain, giving the Nightmare king just the right amount of power and freedom to do what he wanted without drawing suspicion.

Malice's built Urufu personality from several different people.

On the job Urufu was know as been serious, determined and cold to his enemies, all traits he took inspiration from the rare occasions of Judas, there was a few other people involved in his inspiration but Judas was the most, however off duty Urufu or with people Urufu would call friends, he was a different person.

Mal knew the importance of socializing to blend in with society, so for Urufu relaxed nature he made to be playful and charming, he knew how to talk and joke around that led to him build relationships and even helped with his investigations as a shadowhunter, a lot of this was inspired by Arthur, Faolan uncle.

Urufu also had a reputation of being flirtatious with the ladies but he had a narcissistic to good for them attitude as well, Mal know he hot and could play with girls feeling easily, Faolan was flirtatious in his younger years and Mal had observed other men who did the same so he could do it confidently adding to an arrogant reputation of Urufu's.

To play more into the roll he wanted Urufu, Mal made the king Griffin a vegetarian so no one would ever suspect him to being a Nightmare who were notorious for being strictly carnivores.

Urufu was actually one of the few alias we're Mal made his appearance his favorite default setting, his hairstyle is the same as the Dreamer Prince and this style of clothes is subconsciously inspired by Judas. Mal had mastered deception and built Urufu's personality confidently that he wouldn't been found out and had planned to use that alias for at least another 200 years before having to make a new one.

What Mal had expected was everyone would just believe Urufu was still a young king Griffin who was gifted but arrogant and had a lot more growing to do if he ever wanted to be a Captain.

Making Urufu that hot edgy arrogant guy that people are usually drawn to but he showed enough heroic qualities that also balanced out his bad boy qualities.

Though Urufu had a cold reputation on the job, he would at times surprise people by showing compassion to victims of dark creature attacks, providing them with his healing abilities and just talking to them for support after the traumatic event.

Mal did this a lot with Mina in Skey, he would just talk to her for support.

There was even a Time Urufu gave his jacket to a frightened child to use as a blanket as the rescue crew look through the remains of a town for survivors, even though Malice usually shows aggression towards children because he actually frightened of them but Mal knew how to /act/ the part of a hero because he wanted to deceive people so they would believe what Mal wanted them to, that Urufu was a good guy but with a lot of rough edges
