Like I said, this is not a vent but it's important to me.
So as you all know I've made many adopts/adopt attempts over the years... all of them, I can only manage to successfully finish some of them and the other's I promised, I evidently lost motivation for... From what I can tell the problem is, I make way too complicated designs along with the fact all tie in to Sylyore. To make a good adopt, I feel I should open the species up to being able to be put in other worlds, and possibly not even originating from sylyore. I do have many other planets I have not done justice for. So the plan is, first off I'll keep continuing the ziriel event, that wont change so don't worry. I've been writing it I'm just taking time so it's good.
Second, I'm going to make 3 designs and think hard on them. Those will only be visual designs, no writing/info tied into them yet. I will share sketches of them in 3 individual posts, hopefully in a couple of poses and I will put a lot of details into them. But this is where you guys come in. After all of them are posted, I will post a voting page, where you guys pick the designs that most interest you as an adoptable species.
After about a week or two has passed, I'll rally the votes and see which one you all like the most. And the remaining designs might be used later/scrapped.
Once all that is done I'll begin developing them and then I'll post a basic info page with a question attached regarding their home.

Once the home is decided, I'll use an existing planet that relates or create a new one. And maybe if they become loved as much as I hope they will, I can begin a small rp for us all to develop them together. This is a dream I've had and wanted to fulfill for many/if not all of my adoptable species. As for times of rp sessions, dates and all that, it will be decided later depending on who joins and if people join. And by no means will the rp ever feel like a responsibility and it wont be very story driven so that no one feels left behind if they cant attend. Basically giving you guys the reigns with the development and growth of them.
However with this, I will have to draw a few lines... I will make something that's been long overdue and something others have been doing. That is making an adoption rules info page. Because I too am very protective of everything I make. But don't be alarmed it wont be too strict except for posting on other sites/changing designs.
One thing ik for sure, I want to step a bit out of my comfort zone for the 3 designs to ensure they aren't too hard to draw but also fun and unique to draw. And as you know, I always love making interesting capabilities and appearances of species so expect that as well.
That pretty much wraps this up, I'll say more on it later and I'm very glad I managed to squeeze a good tablet drawing out of my aching hands x'D

And if you want some help in getting these new species out there, please let me know and I can add them to the list of species of the month I host to help other people get there species out there more, that only if you want to though :)

I think this is a really cool idea! Pushing ourselves to make better or more detailed designs closer to our goals can seriously help an artist improve, heck, if I weren't so lazy with drawing on colors, I might try something similar haha
I'll keep an eye out for those designs! ^^ (and yeah, I seriously need to make a ToS for my species as well ooof)

Oooh, sounds exciting!! I can't wait to see the designs you make! :D And I understand what it's like to miss seeing all that attention on species. Colors isn't as active as it was before, but you never know if a boost like this will help, so I'm hopeful and excited for you! ^u^

Oooh this sounds neat! I'd be interested in seeing what you do! I don't know if I'd be able to RP with any characters much though, but if it's something I can just hop in and out ouf, I think I could work better with that. I can't wait to see what you make~ X3
