does anyone else wonder this? because like,, what's gonna happen to Colors!3D? Or the site/app in general? Most users seem to be on the 3DS, so when it shuts down, will the community go with it, or will there be another option, like how FlipNote on the DSi became Sudomemo?
I hope it doesn't happen anytime soon..

I have a feeling it'll be around for a while yet. ^^ New artists are downloading the app a lot lately.

My guess is that the eShop will remain accessible for a couple more years after the 3DS internet servers shut down, so Colors! 3D can still be bought, but the gallery can't be entered from there. (the Wii Shop Channel DID last a while, after all.)
The Colors! gallery probably wouldn't shut down so soon after that. As long as people still post paintings in Colors!, it will stay open. The devs would probably port Colors! to another popular system so they can still get the money needed to support the servers.
Even if the 3DS was suddenly discontinued, (I fear that day might come soon) the servers would probably stay up longer than Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection's servers. Nintendo themselves didn't make the choice of shutting down NWFC anyway.

I've thought about this a lot over the past few years as activity seems to have decreased. Losing Miiverse, another community I used a lot back in the day, was a sad event I hadn't expected, and it just reminded me that what we have here can all be taken away pretty quickly. I have no idea how long Colors' online service will last, but I hope it will be a while yet.
