I hate people who steal artwork but i think the main reson people hate it is because they think if all the tracers stopped tracing, Everyones attention would be on them and their "wonderful" drawings. Yes there are good artists out there but many dont realize even if there werent tracers many people still wouldnt give a da.mn about their oc or sonic fanfic or whatever. The point is, tracers may not be artists and may not deserve likes, but without them, most of our gallery would be hor.ny elevenyear olds, dating stuff, por.n , good art, but mainly crappy art.
btw, the most liked pictured in the entire gallery are traced and look amazing. and if you have never traced before, its just as difficult as drawing somthing with no reference, if not harder.
Well novice artists, imo, learn how to draw by tracing images. They aren't trying to persey steal an image, trace it and claim it as their own. They trace it for practice's sake. Also, please learn the difference between art thieft and traced images. Art thieft is when one actually takes an image claimed by the original artist and claims it as their own with no effort put in it what-so-ever while traced images could show shaky lineart. I no longer trace images as I am a more experienced artist.
I like you, EVN. People should look at playbacks more often, and recognize tracing. I want to reply to Alligator. I agree with you about the little kids drawing lame stuff, but I would rather have that stuff than tracings. My problem is that people that trace, almost always put their signature on it. That bothers me. I don't mind as much when they say they traced it in the description. Also, people want to get noticed, whats so bad about that? If someone worked hard on their drawing, why not? I don't like getting less stars than traced drawings, but I don't really mind, since its not a competition.
You guys think I'm forcing this? You had the option to just not comment. I'm not saying that your commenrs are a bad thing. Also, you don't need to post every d-mn thing you draw.
Secondly, you're right, tracing is bad, however, there are plenty of other people who make things like this and making a video with logic isn't going to solve the problem. Everyone here (except Jesse who is an annoying tard) has an excellent point. There are good examples of tracings. There are also people who trace 2D pics so they can make them in 3D, and there's no harm in that as long as they don't take full credit. At times like these, just ignore the crowd and keep doing what you do.
What if the person drew something in real life and wanted to put it on here, but they're too lazy to draw it again so they trace it? Would you be angry at them because I don't think you can art plagerize yourself. Plz think about this.
*applauds* Yes, that's exactly it. Wonderous lecture we have here. Talks about everything and their dog in this field. I see you're fond of my 'Google does not draw' point. As for you tracers, don't try justifying yourself. It's still bad. Traced pictures of your pet aren't always what everyone wants to see, either. Pretty much everyone and their dog does that, it's not very original nor is it always good-looking.
Quite honestly, I can accept tracing as a learning tool, but It'd be nice to see less of it in the galleries... Tracing can be hard, I guess? But, it's not as hard as the original copy was, and I know I'd be rather dissapointed if someone were to trace my art (even though it isnt so great XD) and then recieve a lot of likes for it.

I agree that if you are bad at drawing than it's o.k. to trace but please don't it in the gallery unless it's an original drawing.
