The first is the obvious, ranks, a Niironoxes horns are different for rank. The Warriors actually have the most durable horns, not the Alpha. A Beta's horns are softer (still hard), but break easiest.

Niironoxes horns help them, not only with showcasing power. But it gives them a 6th sense in some ways.

They can sense when something bad is going to happen. Whether it's an earthquake, tsunami, hurricane or something more drastic.

Such as someone coming to kill them or plotting to kill them (Such as Decay or a pack of Beta's after an Alpha or human hunters)

But it's not always clear to the one experiencing this feeling, to what's going to happen specifically, it's more of a feeling (that sensation someone's watching you, someone's behind you, etc...)

These feelings have been known to drive some Niironox insane. Putting them on constant edge of what may or may not happen.

Alpha's are usually more in tune with this sensation, which is both good and bad. It can help an Alpha move his/her pack out of the path of devastation or it can be bad, driving an Alpha to be paranoid/anxious.

An Alpha that's constantly on edge, is a dangerous Alpha. Some have been known to freak out so much, they slaughter all or some of their pack, just to alleviate the feeling.

But not all Niironox give into this feeling, some can ignore it, to where their brain just locks away this sensation.

Warriors are likely to ignore this feeling. Usually focusing on what's in front of them or what's happening at that moment.

These feelings are also lessened when a horn is broken/cracked, Alpha's are usually seen with cracks in their horns or a broken horn, to help keep their minds clear.

It feels unpleasant for them to break a horn, but it doesn't hurt all that much, it just feels funny.

A Niironoxes horns never stop growing, they just grow slowly and sometimes will grow protrutions from them (spikes or bumps usually) some occasionally will split in two at the ends. Which can applify the 6th sense and drive them beyond insanity.

Niironox will usually stop that before it gets to that point, either by breaking their own horns or filing them down on rocks. Sometimes fighting other Niironox helps too, as usually a horn will snap off or crack in a fight.
