Summer Solstice by Alkaline
I absolutely hate drawing complex landscapes mostly because it requires a lot of focus and preparation. This is by no means a complete product and serves mostly as an experiment and a study. I tend to do lots and lots of scribbles before I'm confident enough to finish something big. :U
That way I don't overwork myself. :0
Anyway here's the local more or less 'main' town nearest to the Broke's farm. They are very lively people, but tend to hold a bad stigma towards the Jim and his fam. (bc Jim is a total d-bag all the time and refuses to basically participate in town foolery)
Surprisingly they aren't too terribly wary of foreigners, though during big events law enforcement is out in about to deal with any 'mishaps'
(bc the town can get bad to the point where they're like a bunch of drunk college students tipping cars in x lot. (yes that happens) )
Concerning events they have a super big festival during the summer where they celebrate in hopes for a good harvest in the coming cold seasons.
oh boy it lasts a long while.
There's lots of things mostly food, always food, the town is rather well off economically.
They like to dress up the streets like so, so super flashy and glamorous. wrow
There's a train station there actually and that's important for later things so I mentioning it pffff.
I do not actually have an established name for it, but I don't like asking for help on any of that stuff bc I am stubborn, though I am starting to get desperate. fhbvbb

forgot to mention somethings
obviously there's music and ppl do strange weird performance things during these events
weirdos
also games, and stuff
there's open markets where knick knacks and local crafts are sold, sometimes foreign merchants come in and sell nice spices and exotic foodles wrow
did I mention food?
ice cream and soda pops exist
what are you do you think I wouldn't include that? you heck
also there are areas where the town opens up into fields and there's like campfires grills and dances everywhere

perspectives are difficult for me ;; had to do one in AP art and i freaked out. i like how lively this is, really does live up to the description

& i agree that busy/detailed scenes, especially towns or cities, can be pretty annoying to do because of how much it takes to do them right x"D im too lazy to bother most of the time.
