'Yes,' said Sargon. 'I have some final words - and a request, if I may.' He looked at the rest of the group, his gaze lingering on Dianne and Armin. 'My request is that you do not send Ana to Oblivion. She may have done terrible things, but she was acting under my command. She should not be punished so harshly for the things I made her do.'
Ignoring the executioner, Sargon narrowed his eyes at Dianne. 'Who gave you the right to decide someone's fate like that? Why should you have so much power over anybody?'
{Dianne sneered at Sargon.} Dianne: "/Thanatos/ did. As his former acolyte, I have quite a bit of pull in the politics of the afterlife. If you don't like it, you can take it up with him once you get down there." {Jerry just looks uneasily between Sargon and Dianne. A few of the abominations close in on Sargon, intent on restraining him and accelerating his sentence.}
Sargon looked like he wanted to keep arguing, but stopped when he noticed the draugrs surrounding him. 'I have one final declaration,' he said quickly. 'Not a request.' He looked at each member of the group in turn. 'You should all know better than to underestimate Dark Brink, especially when you know that I've been in contact with him. It was not only Ana who received his power. Perhaps you should have considered this before you attempted to capture me. For I have no intentions of 'coming quietly' - I will always at least try to keep my life.'
With that, a loud cracking noise rang out in the morning air, accompanied by a flash of light. When it faded, Sargon was no longer anywhere to be seen.
{Dianne's smug expression disappeared almost instantly, being replaced by a look of utter shock. Everyone just stood there, shocked about what happened. After a moment of Sargon's disappearance sinking in, Dianne yelled out at her minions.} "FIND HIM! Search the streets, the skies, the sewers! Do NOT let him escape!" {With that, the draugrs spread out, looking for any sign of Sargon.}
Meanwhile, a few miles away, Sargon reappeared, gasping for breath. He had never used his power before, and hadn't even known for sure that it would work. He stood up unsteadily and looked around. To his relief, he seemed to be far away from the others, as he couldn't see, hear or smell any of them. But he was still inside the city. After taking a moment to catch his breath, he began to walk quickly, heading for the edge of the city.
{Dianne was livid at this point.} "How the f$%k was I supposed know?! Da.mn you, Brink! Son of a-" {Dianne's dialogue just degraded in to terrible swears and curses in a variety of languages. She then stomped off to join the manhunt. Jerry and his family decided to go check the jails, in case he tried to free prisoners as a distraction. Titan took to the sky, looking to kill and birds he deemed suspicious.}
Armin drew his sword and began to walk in the same direction as Jerry, muttering darkly, just loud enough to be heard. 'How are we even going to find him? What's the point in looking? He could have literally teleported /anywhere,/ he might not even be in the dam.ned city anymore...'
Ivy stood there for a moment, looking dumbstruck at the turn of events. Then she wandered off in a random direction, apparently hoping she might run into Sargon by chance alone.
{Jerry turned slightly to speak to Armin} "Teleportation has a range. Given how big this city is, I doubt he could have left entirely."
{Magnus climbed a building, looking out over the city. Using the high vantage points of the tops of the buildings, he begins to run across them towards the far edge of the city, looking out to the streets below.}
'So what if it has a range?' Armin growled. 'He could teleport more than once. He could do it several times in a row and end up in a completely different region.'
Sargon paused in a dark alleyway, trying to get his bearings. //I think this is the far eastern side of the city...// he thought. //I should try teleporting again. They might find me if I stay here.//
He gathered up Brink's power, and attempted to teleport, visualising himself standing on the large empty plain between Sovereign and the mountain range. However, nothing happened. He frowned. //Perhaps I must wait before using the power again... Or perhaps I am just too tired to use it now...//
Hmm, I was thinking maybe Ivy could spot him first? That might be interesting, since she's the one least likely to find him. XD After she does, you can feel free to have any of your people run into them and do anything you like.)
(Ehhh, it seems like they forgot to turn the wifi off, so I'll just throw in a quick reply now.)
Ivy hurried along a street, glancing around nervously. She was looking for Sargon, but had no idea what she was going to do if she actually found him. //I mean, I can't catch an ancient, powerful, /teleporting/ vampire by myself!// she thought. Just then, she heard footsteps coming from an alleyway nearby, and stiffened. //Oh no... could that really be...?// Quickly, she began to move towards the sound, trying to move as quietly as possible.
Armin hurried to catch up with Jerry. 'Why are we going towards the jail, anyway? Why would he be here?'
Ivy continued walking, hoping that if Sargon really was there, he wouldn't notice her. //Oh, come on,// she thought irritably. //He's a VAMPIRE, of course he'll notice me!// As she entered the alleyway, she quickly pulled out the small gun she normally carried. //This might not kill him, but maybe it'll slow him down...//
She was still thinking about what she was going to do when she heard a slight noise behind her. With a gasp, she spun around just in time to see Sargon conjuring his sword out of nowhere. He was standing twenty feet away, watching her.
'You are the one they sent to find me?' he queried. 'Pathetic. You're only a human, and not even properly equipped.'
Ivy aimed her gun at him. 'You wanna test that theory?' she spat, trying to stop her voice from shaking.
Sargon raised an eyebrow, and then began to charge towards her, sword raised. Ivy let out an involuntary scream and started shooting wildly, but her bullets didn't seem to be stopping the vampire.
{Magnus heard Ivy's screams and took off in her direction.} "Ivy? Ivy!" {Mangus began running down the alley, drawing his greatsword.} "HEY! Leave her alone, scumsucker!"
{In the prison, Jerry ignores Crowley entirely.} "All clear. That's true, but one's a Great Plumed Serpent and the other is a teleporting pidgeon. If they get out, it could cause us trouble."
Hearing Magnus's approach, Sargon halted and looked around. Ivy took the opportunity to shoot again, narrowly missing his head. With a look of annoyance, he slammed the hilt of his sword into the side of her head, knocking her unconscious, before turning to confront Magnus.
'I'm a CROWDRAGON, goddammit!' Crowley shouted. 'A CROW. DRAGON. Did you learn anything in school?'
'I don't think that's something he would do,' said Armin, talking over Crowley. 'I think he'd be more focused on getting far away from us, as quickly as possible.'
Sargon struck out with his own sword, letting it clash against Magnus's blade, blocking his attack. 'Are the others with you?' he asked as he tried to push Magnus backwards. 'Or did they only send you and that girl to come find me?'
'So, where to now?' said Armin. 'Actually, nevermind. I'm going to fly above the city and look for him. You humans can keep searching on the ground.' With that, he walked out of the prison.
{Magnus pushed back as well.} "They'll be here, trust me." {Just then, a large crash shook the ground, as Titan landed at the edge of the alley, as he couldn't fit inside. He gives an earth shaking roar, at which Magnus smiles} "Oh, you're in for it now, old man." {Hearing the roar, Dianne and every draugr in the area begin to converge on Sargon's location. Jerry also hears it, and begins to run in that direction.} Jerry: "Go! They found him!"
'Your three-headed abomination cannot fit inside this alleyway,' said Sargon coldly. However, he then paused, hearing noises from far away as the other undead creatures began to approach. 'Although, maybe it does not matter...'
He suddenly conjured a flying dagger and sent it plunging into Magnus's arm, severing the hand that was holding his blade. He then turned, jumped over Ivy's body, and shifted into falcon form, taking flight across the city, fighting against his exhaustion.
Armin shifted into hawk form and took off in the direction of Titan's roar.
Magnus was not expecting to lose a hand. Backing away and cursing, he watches Sargon fly away. Titan, on the other hand, was having none of it, leaping into the sky in pursuit. Dianne saw Sargon being chased by Titan and pursued as well.} Dianne: "Stop, old man! There's no escape!"
As he flew away, Sargon sent a telepathic message into Dianne's mind. //Don't assume you have me beaten so easily.// He was aware that Titan was chasing him, but hoped that the hydra would find it hard to catch him, given that Titan was massive and Sargon was just a small bird.
Just then, Armin got close enough to spot Sargon. He joined the chase, letting out an ear-piercing hawk screech and diving after the falcon.
Meanwhile, Wendigo (who had already been flying over the city) joined the pursuit as well, attempting to outpace Titan so he could catch his hated enemy first.
{Dianne growled at this, shifted, and maintained pursuit through the skies. Titan was beginning to notice Sargon's haggard condition.} Titan: "He tires! Maintain pursuit!" {Meanwhile, Jerry and his family had caught up to where Ivy and Magnus were. He stops when he sees Magnus kneeling over Ivy. } Jerry: "Magnus, what happened?" Magnus: "Sargon hit her over the head, but she seems ok."
Hearing the voices and flapping wings getting closer and closer, Sargon put on a burst of speed and managed to leave the city walls. He was now flying over the grassy plains outside the city. However, the effort cost him a lot of energy. The beginnings of a plan formed in his mind. //I only have a few minutes left to accomplish this.// He turned in the air and began to head towards the mountains where he had originally been captured.
Frederick ran over to join the small crowd gathered around Ivy. 'I'll take her back to the castle,' he said. 'What are you all going to do? From what I just heard, Sargon's on his way out of the city and the others are chasing him down.'
{Dianne immediately realized what Sargon was trying to do. With an outraged roar, she accelerates, trying to get close enough to catch him with a gout of fire.} "Go ahead! Run for the hills! There is nowhere on this world where you can hide from me! "
{Jerry takes off his hat and rubs his head.} "I suppose we pursue, but I have no idea how we're suppose to keep up with that..."
Frederick carefully picked up the unconscious Ivy. 'Well, last time I checked, Sargon had Dianne, Titan, Wendigo, /and/ Armin chasing him. I'm not sure they're going to need your help. But if you want to go after them anyway, I'd suggest finding a car.'
Sargon ignored Dianne, saving all his energy for flying.
Meanwhile, Armin managed to overtake Dianne, using his smaller, lighter hawk form to his advantage, and dived towards Sargon, aiming to rip him apart with his talons. However, Sargon dodged the attack and continued on towards the mountains.
Frederick raised a hand in farewell and then left, taking Ivy back to the castle.
----
Sargon tried to evade the fireball, but didn't entirely succeed. A part of it struck his wing, catching his feathers on fire. He continued to fly, ignoring the fact that his wing was slowly burning off.
Suddenly, a loud roar shook the air. Down below, in the mountains, a huge green dragon could be seen. It was Viridi, the chieftain of the wild dragon tribe. He was looking up at the group with an expression of surprise and slight anger.
{Dianne looked down at Viridi, surprised that she didn't notice how close to the range they were getting.} Dianne: Sh!t! We need to finish this quick! Titan! You know what to do!" {Dianne kept her pursuit, while Titan broke off to land and speak to Viridi.}
Sargon flew over Viridi and continued onwards into the mountain range. At least, he tried to. After a few moments, his wing became burned enough that he could no longer fly. Instead, he dived to the ground, shifted back to human form, and walked into a cave that was too small for a dragon to enter.
'What are you doing back here again, abomination?' Viridi called out as Titan got close. 'I thought that your business here was concluded. Or has something else happened? Whatever reason you have, it had better be good.'
{Titan landed, his impact shaking the ground. He took a few steps towards Viridi as he spoke.} "It is as we feared. Brink freed our prisoner and directed him here. You promised us safe passage should this very event take place, did you not?"
{Dianne landed right behind him and charged right up to the cave, unleashing a storm of fire into the opening. It seems she was trying to take advantage of his slow and exhausted state to cook the old man.}
Viridi nodded slowly. 'I did. Though I had to be sure of your intentions first. Do you require any assistance in recapturing your prisoner?'
Sargon retreated deeper into the cave, where the stream of fire couldn't reach. //A pointless effort, Dianne,// he said telepathically. //Even if it could reach me, your fire would likely not kill me.//
Just then, Armin swooped down and landed beside Dianne, shifting back to human form. 'Stop that,' he said loudly over the roaring of the flames. 'I'll go in and get him.'
Armin pushed past Dianne and entered the cave, keeping his sword raised to fend off any surprise attacks. It was clear that he wasn't thinking about anything except finding Sargon. 'Hey, worm!' he called out. His voice echoed around the cave. 'Are you hiding behind a rock or something? Because that won't save you.'
'Then it shall be granted.' Viridi let out another earth-shaking roar. Immediately, dragons began to appear, diving out of the sky or emerging from caves. They all looked to the chieftain questioningly, wondering what he wanted.
'Search the mountains,' Viridi said. 'Find this vampire. Drag his body out of the tunnels if need be.' One by one, the dragons began to leave the area, heading towards the mountain where Sargon, Dianne, and Armin had flown to.
{Titan nodded and headed for the cave. Dianne drew her sword and followed Armin in. She looked around warily, as she knew an ambush could come from anywhere.}
“Nowhere left to run, old man. This is the end of the line.”
Just then, a trio of small knives came flying out of the shadows at the far end of the cave, aiming straight for Dianne and Armin. Sargon had obviously conjured and thrown them.
Outside the cave, four of Viridi's dragons came down to land. The smallest one, who was only the size of a large horse, cautiously approached the cave and began to creep in, catching Sargon's scent somewhere inside.
{Dianne deftly ducked under the knives and began to advance on that corner of the cave in a defensive stance. She paid no heed to the small dragon behind her.} //Knives. He’s trying to incapacitate us, so he can run out the entrance.//
Armin also dodged the knife thrown at him, though barely.
//Well avoided,// said Sargon telepathically. //However, I can summon as many of those as I like.// He conjured another set of three knives and sent them flying towards his opponents. One of the knives flew past them and struck the small dragon, clattering harmlessly against her scales, causing her to let out a high-pitched noise of surprise. One of the other blades sunk into Armin's leg, making him stumble. With a pained expression, he pulled the blade out and tossed it back towards Sargon, forcing the older vampire to dodge it.
{Dianne swings her sword, parrying the blade.} “Enough gimmicks, old man. Face me in a straight fight. You want out? You’ll have to step over me first.”
'Why would I face you?' Sargon replied, speaking out loud this time. 'I know I have little chance of defeating you. Perhaps hiding in a corner and throwing knives is the best chance I have.' He tossed another blade, though his aim was off, causing it to miss Dianne.
{Dianne glances at Sargon’s knife as it flies past, briefly wondering why his aim was so off. } “If that’s what you believe, then you’ve already accepted your fate. There’s no point in stalling any further. Knives like these are not enough to win.” {With that, she advances on Sargon’s corner quicker, watching for more knives.} “Come. My blade is still slick with the blood of your vassals.”
There was a pause. Then, finally, Sargon came forwards into view. One of his arms was severely burned, corresponding to the wing that had been burned in falcon form. With a quick movement, he summoned his rapier-like sword, holding it with his undamaged hand.
'The end of the line, is it?' he said softly. 'We'll see.' He stood there, not moving, waiting for one of his opponents to make the first strike.
Armin raised his sword, then hesitated and gave Dianne a sideways glance, wordlessly asking her if she wanted to attack first.
{Dianne looked to Armin and nodded. Raising her sword, she lunges at Sargon, bringing her blade down in a powerful stroke.} “Resilient as you are, it ends now.”
Meanwhile, in the prisons, Vitis noticed that the guards were all gone, having joined the hunt for Sargon. Quickly, he pokes a hand through the bars, and attempts to pick the lock with a safety pin. Somehow, he had smuggled one in with him.}
He used his own sword to block the slash, and tried to push Dianne backwards. As he was doing this, he conjured another flying knife, which floated in place beside him, ready to be thrown forwards. 'Unfortunately for you, I can control more than one weapon at a time. And I will never run out of weapons should one of them break.'
Crowley heard noises coming from Vitis's cell. '...Hey! What are you doing, worm boy? Wait, are you picking the lock? You'd better come and pick this one too, then.'
{Dianne doesn’t pay the knife much mind. Pushing against Sargon and disengaging, she follows up with a flurry of heavy strikes, trying to get through his defenses and land a blow.} “Yeah, what good is having unlimited weapons if /you/ break?”
{Vitis snorts as he pops the lock open.} “Yeah, right, like I’d do that for you, after the way you’ve treated me. I told you before, I’m leaving, but you’re going to rot here forever. Have fun with the Sovereigns, flea bag!”
'I am a vampire,' said Sargon, calmly dodging or blocking Dianne's blows. 'Not only can I only be killed be certain things, but I also heal considerably faster than you.' As he finished speaking, he flung the knife at her, hoping to hit her while she was busy trying to land a hit on him. Armin stood nearby, watching like a hawk.
'Oooooh, someone's salty,' said Crowley. He pushed his muzzle up against the bars and put on a high-pitched, mocking voice. 'Awww, is the little baby upset that I said something mean to him? Is he gonna run home to his parents and cry?'
{Dianne brings her arm up and deflects the knife with the back of her gauntlet. } “Nice try, but you’ll have to do better than that. It doesn’t matter if you heal quickly...” {Just then, she feigned a heavy two handed attack, seemingly leaving herself open, but when she stepped forward, she became a smoke like mass that rushed past Sargon. Rematerializing behind him, she attempts to strike at his one good arm, looking to disable it.} “...If you falter, you die.”
Sargon attempted to twist out of the way of Dianne's blade. The sword bit into his arm, wounding but not crippling him. He spun around, attacking her with a series of rapid slashes, trying to force her to block them so that she wouldn't have any opportunity to strike back.
'Clever,' he remarked. 'But that trick will only work once. Now that I know what you can do, I will be on my guard.'
'Wait!' said Crowley, trying to stop Vitis from leaving. '...Uh... Listen, if you let me out, I'll owe you a favour. A BIG favour. Sound good to you? You let me out and I'll do something for you?'
{Dianne parrys the slashes as best she could, but one manages to nick her arm. It seems, were Sargon at his best, Dianne would have trouble keeping up with his vampiric speed, but his wounded and exhausted stated leveled the field.} "They all think that, at first. They are all wrong." {Midway through Sargon's attack, Dianne steps back to avoid a blow, then lunges with her own strike, trying to force Sargon back into a corner.}
{Vitis turns and crosses his arms.} "Really?" {He says in an unconvinced tone.} "What could you possibly do that I couldn't? What favor could possibly be so valuable?"
'Overconfident, aren't you?' Sargon allowed himself to be forced backwards rather than get hit, but after dodging, he summoned a pair of floating knives and threw them at Dianne's sword arm, trying to incapacitate her fighting ability.
'I can teleport,' said Crowley. 'I'm a good thief. I could help you steal something reeeeaally awesome. Or I could help you kill someone you don't like. I'm good at killing things.'
{Vitis just laughs.} “Yeah right. That’s all we did while we were hanging out, and need I remind you that it was your recklessness that landed us both here? You’re sh!t at killing and and sh!t at subtlety. Although, there is one thing you could do but...naw, you would never agree to it. “ {With that, he starts to walk away.}
{Dianne retracts her arm, suffering only a small wound from the glancing knife. //That was close. I need to finish this now.// She then redoubles her assault, trying to press Sargon even further into the tight corner.} //Almost there. I just need this corner to impair his ability to turn...//
Sargon's back hit the wall. Realising that he'd been pushed into a corner, he began to fight with renewed aggression, slashing rapidly while not seeming to care if he got a few minor wounds himself. Across the cave, Armin and the small tribe dragon started to edge closer, in case they needed to jump in and help.
{Dianne took a step back, blocking his attacks as they came. As soon as there was enough room behind him, she once again became smokelike and rematerialized behind him. Except this time, the tight cave corridor made sure that a quick turn was impossible. She grabbed his good arm with one hand, and the back of his neck with the other. She then forced him into the wall, keeping him pinned by her hand on the back of his neck and her pulling his arm backwards.} "Not overconfidence, old man, experience."
Sargon kept very still. 'You call me old? How old are you, Dianne - a thousand? More?' he said calmly.
Armin cautiously approached. 'Is that it? Have you got him?' he asked, addressing Dianne while casting a look of disgust and hatred over Sargon. The tribe dragon sat down, watching curiously.
{Dianne scowls at Sargon.} “Didn’t your mother tell you that it’s rude to demand a lady’s age? Hold that thought, Armin.” {Dianne then twists Sargon’s arm with all her might, breaking it with ease.} “Now I got him.”
{Vitis approaches Crowley, his expression suddenly serious.} “Say you’re sorry. Tell me that you were wrong, that you were acting stupid, and that, between the two of us, I’m the better criminal. If you can sincerely admit that, I’ll let you out.”

A job, eh? That's cool. I hope you find one you really like.
16 Mar, 2019, 8:13 pm

Shall we start now? It's my turn to post, so I can start.
16 Mar, 2019, 8:19 pm
Ok, let's start!
16 Mar, 2019, 8:39 pm
Sorry for disappearing! I'll start now.

16 Mar, 2019, 8:47 pm
Dianne: "Too bad, she's going."
Jerry: "We're still discussing it, but we'll keep your request in mind.
{The executioner nods.} "That sounds reasonable. Anything else?"
16 Mar, 2019, 8:58 pm
Ignoring the executioner, Sargon narrowed his eyes at Dianne. 'Who gave you the right to decide someone's fate like that? Why should you have so much power over anybody?'

16 Mar, 2019, 9:45 pm
Armin swore loudly. 'I /told/ you! I told you he was going to do something! You should have used some of those anti-teleportation shackles on him!'
Hearing the commotion, Wendigo took off and began to glide over the city, keeping his eyes out for anything that might be Sargon.
16 Mar, 2019, 9:47 pm
Meanwhile, a few miles away, Sargon reappeared, gasping for breath. He had never used his power before, and hadn't even known for sure that it would work. He stood up unsteadily and looked around. (So, should I just have someone stumble into him? Also, sorry for the late reply, some jerkwad pulled the fire alarm in my building. >:(. )

(Oh no, the fire alarm. XD
Hmm, I was thinking maybe Ivy could spot him first? That might be interesting, since she's the one least likely to find him. XD After she does, you can feel free to have any of your people run into them and do anything you like.)

16 Mar, 2019, 11:16 pm
(Alright, no worries!)
17 Mar, 2019, 12:26 am
17 Mar, 2019, 2:37 am
{Magnus wasn’t too far from Ivy, but he wasn’t aware of her.}
{Jerry enters the jail, gun drawn.}
“In Shacklestone, he freed all the prisoners to join his army. He might try that again to make an escape.”
17 Mar, 2019, 11:12 am
17 Mar, 2019, 11:14 am
'I don't think there are many prisoners in here,' Armin muttered. At the same time, they heard a voice yelling from deeper inside the prison.
'Heeeey! I hear people! Who are you? Did Mortikai finally realise how important I am and decide to rescue me?' It was Crowley.
17 Mar, 2019, 9:06 pm
{Magnus heard Ivy's screams and took off in her direction.}
"Ivy? Ivy!"
{Mangus began running down the alley, drawing his greatsword.}
"HEY! Leave her alone, scumsucker!"
{In the prison, Jerry ignores Crowley entirely.}
"All clear. That's true, but one's a Great Plumed Serpent and the other is a teleporting pidgeon. If they get out, it could cause us trouble."
18 Mar, 2019, 11:27 am
Hearing Magnus's approach, Sargon halted and looked around. Ivy took the opportunity to shoot again, narrowly missing his head. With a look of annoyance, he slammed the hilt of his sword into the side of her head, knocking her unconscious, before turning to confront Magnus.
18 Mar, 2019, 11:58 am
'I'm a CROWDRAGON, goddammit!' Crowley shouted. 'A CROW. DRAGON. Did you learn anything in school?'
'I don't think that's something he would do,' said Armin, talking over Crowley. 'I think he'd be more focused on getting far away from us, as quickly as possible.'
18 Mar, 2019, 7:12 pm
{Magnus rounded the corner, spotting Sargon and swinging his blade at him, attempting to get him away from Ivy.}
"Get away from that girl!"
Jerry: "Perhaps. But just in case, it's better that we made sure."
18 Mar, 2019, 7:26 pm
Sargon struck out with his own sword, letting it clash against Magnus's blade, blocking his attack. 'Are the others with you?' he asked as he tried to push Magnus backwards. 'Or did they only send you and that girl to come find me?'
'So, where to now?' said Armin. 'Actually, nevermind. I'm going to fly above the city and look for him. You humans can keep searching on the ground.' With that, he walked out of the prison.
18 Mar, 2019, 7:49 pm
{Magnus pushed back as well.} "They'll be here, trust me."
{Just then, a large crash shook the ground, as Titan landed at the edge of the alley, as he couldn't fit inside. He gives an earth shaking roar, at which Magnus smiles}
"Oh, you're in for it now, old man."
{Hearing the roar, Dianne and every draugr in the area begin to converge on Sargon's location. Jerry also hears it, and begins to run in that direction.}
Jerry: "Go! They found him!"
18 Mar, 2019, 8:10 pm
'Your three-headed abomination cannot fit inside this alleyway,' said Sargon coldly. However, he then paused, hearing noises from far away as the other undead creatures began to approach. 'Although, maybe it does not matter...'
He suddenly conjured a flying dagger and sent it plunging into Magnus's arm, severing the hand that was holding his blade. He then turned, jumped over Ivy's body, and shifted into falcon form, taking flight across the city, fighting against his exhaustion.
Armin shifted into hawk form and took off in the direction of Titan's roar.
18 Mar, 2019, 8:49 pm
Magnus was not expecting to lose a hand. Backing away and cursing, he watches Sargon fly away. Titan, on the other hand, was having none of it, leaping into the sky in pursuit. Dianne saw Sargon being chased by Titan and pursued as well.}
Dianne: "Stop, old man! There's no escape!"
18 Mar, 2019, 8:57 pm
18 Mar, 2019, 9:32 pm
{Dianne growled at this, shifted, and maintained pursuit through the skies. Titan was beginning to notice Sargon's haggard condition.}
Titan: "He tires! Maintain pursuit!"
{Meanwhile, Jerry and his family had caught up to where Ivy and Magnus were. He stops when he sees Magnus kneeling over Ivy. }
Jerry: "Magnus, what happened?"
Magnus: "Sargon hit her over the head, but she seems ok."
19 Mar, 2019, 11:56 am
19 Mar, 2019, 6:57 pm
{Dianne immediately realized what Sargon was trying to do. With an outraged roar, she accelerates, trying to get close enough to catch him with a gout of fire.}
"Go ahead! Run for the hills! There is nowhere on this world where you can hide from me! "
{Jerry takes off his hat and rubs his head.}
"I suppose we pursue, but I have no idea how we're suppose to keep up with that..."
19 Mar, 2019, 7:08 pm
Frederick carefully picked up the unconscious Ivy. 'Well, last time I checked, Sargon had Dianne, Titan, Wendigo, /and/ Armin chasing him. I'm not sure they're going to need your help. But if you want to go after them anyway, I'd suggest finding a car.'
19 Mar, 2019, 7:10 pm
Sargon ignored Dianne, saving all his energy for flying.
Meanwhile, Armin managed to overtake Dianne, using his smaller, lighter hawk form to his advantage, and dived towards Sargon, aiming to rip him apart with his talons. However, Sargon dodged the attack and continued on towards the mountains.
19 Mar, 2019, 7:18 pm
{Jerry nods.}
"Yeah, better than doing nothing. Take care of her, Fred. Let's go get a car."
{When Sargon veered to the side to avoid Armin, Dianne spat a fireball at Sargon, trying to anticipate where he would be and hit him with the attack.}
19 Mar, 2019, 7:42 pm
Frederick raised a hand in farewell and then left, taking Ivy back to the castle.
----
Sargon tried to evade the fireball, but didn't entirely succeed. A part of it struck his wing, catching his feathers on fire. He continued to fly, ignoring the fact that his wing was slowly burning off.
Suddenly, a loud roar shook the air. Down below, in the mountains, a huge green dragon could be seen. It was Viridi, the chieftain of the wild dragon tribe. He was looking up at the group with an expression of surprise and slight anger.
19 Mar, 2019, 7:59 pm
{Dianne looked down at Viridi, surprised that she didn't notice how close to the range they were getting.}
Dianne: Sh!t! We need to finish this quick! Titan! You know what to do!"
{Dianne kept her pursuit, while Titan broke off to land and speak to Viridi.}
19 Mar, 2019, 8:09 pm
Sargon flew over Viridi and continued onwards into the mountain range. At least, he tried to. After a few moments, his wing became burned enough that he could no longer fly. Instead, he dived to the ground, shifted back to human form, and walked into a cave that was too small for a dragon to enter.
'What are you doing back here again, abomination?' Viridi called out as Titan got close. 'I thought that your business here was concluded. Or has something else happened? Whatever reason you have, it had better be good.'
19 Mar, 2019, 8:31 pm
{Titan landed, his impact shaking the ground. He took a few steps towards Viridi as he spoke.}
"It is as we feared. Brink freed our prisoner and directed him here. You promised us safe passage should this very event take place, did you not?"
{Dianne landed right behind him and charged right up to the cave, unleashing a storm of fire into the opening. It seems she was trying to take advantage of his slow and exhausted state to cook the old man.}
19 Mar, 2019, 8:46 pm
Viridi nodded slowly. 'I did. Though I had to be sure of your intentions first. Do you require any assistance in recapturing your prisoner?'
Sargon retreated deeper into the cave, where the stream of fire couldn't reach. //A pointless effort, Dianne,// he said telepathically. //Even if it could reach me, your fire would likely not kill me.//
Just then, Armin swooped down and landed beside Dianne, shifting back to human form. 'Stop that,' he said loudly over the roaring of the flames. 'I'll go in and get him.'
19 Mar, 2019, 8:53 pm
{Dianne ceased and shifted back, fuming.}
"When I get my hands on him..."
{Titan nods.} "Yes. Any troops you could spare would be appreciated."
20 Mar, 2019, 12:07 pm
Armin pushed past Dianne and entered the cave, keeping his sword raised to fend off any surprise attacks. It was clear that he wasn't thinking about anything except finding Sargon. 'Hey, worm!' he called out. His voice echoed around the cave. 'Are you hiding behind a rock or something? Because that won't save you.'
20 Mar, 2019, 12:10 pm
'Then it shall be granted.' Viridi let out another earth-shaking roar. Immediately, dragons began to appear, diving out of the sky or emerging from caves. They all looked to the chieftain questioningly, wondering what he wanted.
'Search the mountains,' Viridi said. 'Find this vampire. Drag his body out of the tunnels if need be.' One by one, the dragons began to leave the area, heading towards the mountain where Sargon, Dianne, and Armin had flown to.
21 Mar, 2019, 10:29 am
{Titan nodded and headed for the cave. Dianne drew her sword and followed Armin in. She looked around warily, as she knew an ambush could come from anywhere.}
“Nowhere left to run, old man. This is the end of the line.”
21 Mar, 2019, 12:22 pm
Just then, a trio of small knives came flying out of the shadows at the far end of the cave, aiming straight for Dianne and Armin. Sargon had obviously conjured and thrown them.
Outside the cave, four of Viridi's dragons came down to land. The smallest one, who was only the size of a large horse, cautiously approached the cave and began to creep in, catching Sargon's scent somewhere inside.
21 Mar, 2019, 6:37 pm
{Dianne deftly ducked under the knives and began to advance on that corner of the cave in a defensive stance. She paid no heed to the small dragon behind her.}
//Knives. He’s trying to incapacitate us, so he can run out the entrance.//
21 Mar, 2019, 6:55 pm
Armin also dodged the knife thrown at him, though barely.
//Well avoided,// said Sargon telepathically. //However, I can summon as many of those as I like.// He conjured another set of three knives and sent them flying towards his opponents. One of the knives flew past them and struck the small dragon, clattering harmlessly against her scales, causing her to let out a high-pitched noise of surprise. One of the other blades sunk into Armin's leg, making him stumble. With a pained expression, he pulled the blade out and tossed it back towards Sargon, forcing the older vampire to dodge it.
21 Mar, 2019, 7:16 pm
{Dianne swings her sword, parrying the blade.}
“Enough gimmicks, old man. Face me in a straight fight. You want out? You’ll have to step over me first.”
21 Mar, 2019, 9:02 pm
'Why would I face you?' Sargon replied, speaking out loud this time. 'I know I have little chance of defeating you. Perhaps hiding in a corner and throwing knives is the best chance I have.' He tossed another blade, though his aim was off, causing it to miss Dianne.
21 Mar, 2019, 9:46 pm
{Dianne glances at Sargon’s knife as it flies past, briefly wondering why his aim was so off. }
“If that’s what you believe, then you’ve already accepted your fate. There’s no point in stalling any further. Knives like these are not enough to win.”
{With that, she advances on Sargon’s corner quicker, watching for more knives.}
“Come. My blade is still slick with the blood of your vassals.”
21 Mar, 2019, 10:19 pm
There was a pause. Then, finally, Sargon came forwards into view. One of his arms was severely burned, corresponding to the wing that had been burned in falcon form. With a quick movement, he summoned his rapier-like sword, holding it with his undamaged hand.
'The end of the line, is it?' he said softly. 'We'll see.' He stood there, not moving, waiting for one of his opponents to make the first strike.
Armin raised his sword, then hesitated and gave Dianne a sideways glance, wordlessly asking her if she wanted to attack first.
21 Mar, 2019, 10:49 pm
{Dianne looked to Armin and nodded. Raising her sword, she lunges at Sargon, bringing her blade down in a powerful stroke.}
“Resilient as you are, it ends now.”
22 Mar, 2019, 9:15 am
Meanwhile, in the prisons, Vitis noticed that the guards were all gone, having joined the hunt for Sargon. Quickly, he pokes a hand through the bars, and attempts to pick the lock with a safety pin. Somehow, he had smuggled one in with him.}
22 Mar, 2019, 11:01 am
He used his own sword to block the slash, and tried to push Dianne backwards. As he was doing this, he conjured another flying knife, which floated in place beside him, ready to be thrown forwards. 'Unfortunately for you, I can control more than one weapon at a time. And I will never run out of weapons should one of them break.'
22 Mar, 2019, 11:02 am
Crowley heard noises coming from Vitis's cell. '...Hey! What are you doing, worm boy? Wait, are you picking the lock? You'd better come and pick this one too, then.'
22 Mar, 2019, 6:00 pm
{Dianne doesn’t pay the knife much mind. Pushing against Sargon and disengaging, she follows up with a flurry of heavy strikes, trying to get through his defenses and land a blow.}
“Yeah, what good is having unlimited weapons if /you/ break?”
22 Mar, 2019, 6:04 pm
{Vitis snorts as he pops the lock open.}
“Yeah, right, like I’d do that for you, after the way you’ve treated me. I told you before, I’m leaving, but you’re going to rot here forever. Have fun with the Sovereigns, flea bag!”
22 Mar, 2019, 6:31 pm
'I am a vampire,' said Sargon, calmly dodging or blocking Dianne's blows. 'Not only can I only be killed be certain things, but I also heal considerably faster than you.' As he finished speaking, he flung the knife at her, hoping to hit her while she was busy trying to land a hit on him. Armin stood nearby, watching like a hawk.
22 Mar, 2019, 6:34 pm
'Oooooh, someone's salty,' said Crowley. He pushed his muzzle up against the bars and put on a high-pitched, mocking voice. 'Awww, is the little baby upset that I said something mean to him? Is he gonna run home to his parents and cry?'
22 Mar, 2019, 7:12 pm
{Dianne brings her arm up and deflects the knife with the back of her gauntlet. }
“Nice try, but you’ll have to do better than that. It doesn’t matter if you heal quickly...”
{Just then, she feigned a heavy two handed attack, seemingly leaving herself open, but when she stepped forward, she became a smoke like mass that rushed past Sargon. Rematerializing behind him, she attempts to strike at his one good arm, looking to disable it.}
“...If you falter, you die.”
22 Mar, 2019, 7:14 pm
{Vitis just flips Crowley the bird.}
“Oh, yeah, that’ll convince me to let you out.”
{He says sarcastically.}
“I’m out of here. Have fun dying, jerk!”
22 Mar, 2019, 7:19 pm
Sargon attempted to twist out of the way of Dianne's blade. The sword bit into his arm, wounding but not crippling him. He spun around, attacking her with a series of rapid slashes, trying to force her to block them so that she wouldn't have any opportunity to strike back.
'Clever,' he remarked. 'But that trick will only work once. Now that I know what you can do, I will be on my guard.'
22 Mar, 2019, 7:21 pm
'Wait!' said Crowley, trying to stop Vitis from leaving. '...Uh... Listen, if you let me out, I'll owe you a favour. A BIG favour. Sound good to you? You let me out and I'll do something for you?'
22 Mar, 2019, 7:38 pm
{Dianne parrys the slashes as best she could, but one manages to nick her arm. It seems, were Sargon at his best, Dianne would have trouble keeping up with his vampiric speed, but his wounded and exhausted stated leveled the field.}
"They all think that, at first. They are all wrong."
{Midway through Sargon's attack, Dianne steps back to avoid a blow, then lunges with her own strike, trying to force Sargon back into a corner.}
22 Mar, 2019, 7:40 pm
{Vitis turns and crosses his arms.}
"Really?"
{He says in an unconvinced tone.}
"What could you possibly do that I couldn't? What favor could possibly be so valuable?"
22 Mar, 2019, 8:05 pm
'Overconfident, aren't you?' Sargon allowed himself to be forced backwards rather than get hit, but after dodging, he summoned a pair of floating knives and threw them at Dianne's sword arm, trying to incapacitate her fighting ability.
22 Mar, 2019, 8:08 pm
'I can teleport,' said Crowley. 'I'm a good thief. I could help you steal something reeeeaally awesome. Or I could help you kill someone you don't like. I'm good at killing things.'
22 Mar, 2019, 8:20 pm
{Vitis just laughs.} “Yeah right. That’s all we did while we were hanging out, and need I remind you that it was your recklessness that landed us both here? You’re sh!t at killing and and sh!t at subtlety. Although, there is one thing you could do but...naw, you would never agree to it. “
{With that, he starts to walk away.}
22 Mar, 2019, 8:26 pm
{Dianne retracts her arm, suffering only a small wound from the glancing knife. //That was close. I need to finish this now.//
She then redoubles her assault, trying to press Sargon even further into the tight corner.}
//Almost there. I just need this corner to impair his ability to turn...//
22 Mar, 2019, 8:52 pm
Sargon's back hit the wall. Realising that he'd been pushed into a corner, he began to fight with renewed aggression, slashing rapidly while not seeming to care if he got a few minor wounds himself. Across the cave, Armin and the small tribe dragon started to edge closer, in case they needed to jump in and help.
22 Mar, 2019, 8:52 pm
'Wait!' Crowley yelled again. 'Stop walking away, dammit! What do you want me to do?'
22 Mar, 2019, 9:39 pm
{Dianne took a step back, blocking his attacks as they came. As soon as there was enough room behind him, she once again became smokelike and rematerialized behind him. Except this time, the tight cave corridor made sure that a quick turn was impossible. She grabbed his good arm with one hand, and the back of his neck with the other. She then forced him into the wall, keeping him pinned by her hand on the back of his neck and her pulling his arm backwards.}
"Not overconfidence, old man, experience."
22 Mar, 2019, 9:41 pm
{Vitis turns back, a gleefully mischievous on his face.}
"Are you sure you want to know? I doubt your ego can take it."
22 Mar, 2019, 10:14 pm
Sargon kept very still. 'You call me old? How old are you, Dianne - a thousand? More?' he said calmly.
Armin cautiously approached. 'Is that it? Have you got him?' he asked, addressing Dianne while casting a look of disgust and hatred over Sargon. The tribe dragon sat down, watching curiously.
22 Mar, 2019, 10:15 pm
Crowley sneered. 'What could YOU possibly want that you think I wouldn't be able to do?' he said, clearly unconcerned.
23 Mar, 2019, 10:09 am
{Dianne scowls at Sargon.}
“Didn’t your mother tell you that it’s rude to demand a lady’s age? Hold that thought, Armin.” {Dianne then twists Sargon’s arm with all her might, breaking it with ease.}
“Now I got him.”
23 Mar, 2019, 10:12 am
{Vitis approaches Crowley, his expression suddenly serious.}
“Say you’re sorry. Tell me that you were wrong, that you were acting stupid, and that, between the two of us, I’m the better criminal. If you can sincerely admit that, I’ll let you out.”
