Oh yeah, and for the sake of the timeline, I need to know when this would be taking place. Like, is this taking place before or after the events at Erul? The reason I ask is so I can generally gauge Lumen's state of mind and mood :3)

(I know Jack Crap about Destria before the Erul Massacre. So it will have to be after Erul.)

(Do you mean the Erulean massacre on Iclios? Or the events at Erul that resulted in Serah's death? I was referring to events in erul that resulted Serah's death N shtuff.)

(Okee-dokee! I'm back! :D I have food on the way, so when it arrives, I'll be gone for a few mins. So sorry about the wait! Without further delay, I will begin work on the opening >3<)

It was humid late afternoon in Iclios. The setting sun splashed embers of red light across the lightly damp foliage of the Iclionian landscape. Despite the reputation Iclios had for roadside brigands, the portion of the country Lumen was currently traversing was rather peaceful. It was a path that ran along paralell to two neighboring villages that had a rather substantial garrison of self-trained warriors to protect its borders. That being said, Lumen still kept his guard up, fondling one of his precisely sharpened knives in his palm beneath the concealed curtain of robes he wore.

"It truly is pretty when all is well...."

Said Lumen aloud as his feet ghosted over the leaf-strewn country road, seemingly making no noise.

(Tada! All done! >3<)

(Ok. Let’s get this party started.)

Onyx had a lot on his mind while he was practicing his Necromancy. Bringing the dead Cat out of the ground, he watched in silence as the dead feline stood up and ran around him. “At least, I could probably make people either laugh or run like madmen.”

With feet beginning to become wary, Lumen began looking from left to right for suitable places to set up camp. While doing so, he heard what he thought to be voices coming from ahead. This did not change Lumen's path. With caution, he continued walking the way he had been for the majority of the day.

Onyx stretched his back and picked up the dead cat. “Let’s see if we can find a spell that will keep you alive for more than 7 hours back at the house.” He turned around and started walking back. He suddenly looked up to notice someone walking toward him.

Maintaining a friendly posture, Lumen approached what he could not determine was a young Elven man. With further inspection of his eyes, Lumen could make out what looked to be a cat. Shortly thereafter, he realized that the cat was indeed dead. This perplexed him a tad bit, but at least from the looks of it, the youth was unarmed. So with a bow, Lumen greeted the stranger upon approach.

"Greetings and good evening. I hope you are fairing well."

(Typo! I mean't: What he COULD determine was a young elven man. xD)

(It’s ok. Autocorrect is a pain.)

Onyx grinned and nodded in reply. “I’m doing fine, thank you. I’m Onyx, a Necromancer. Who are you?”

(Ima reply in a bit. My food is here! >3<)

(Ok. Get some food.)

Now everything made sense to Lumen. The dead cat was obviously a subject for necromantic reanimation. Although Lumen was not particularly fond of the practice, he did not go out of his way to spite or question those who did.

"Delighted to be acquainted Onyx, I am Lumen Candeo. I hope I have not interrupted anything important."

Lumen gestured with one hand to the cat, slightly bowing his head in tandem with the gesture.

Onyx shrugged his shoulders. “Not really. Was just walking home to see if I can find a spell to make this little guy stay alive longer than the usual 7 hours.” He grinned before cocking his head at Lumen. “You look like someone ran your favorite pet over with a boulder. Care to tell me what’s going on?”

(Can’t believe I threw those last sentences in there.)

Lumen was surprised by the accurate observation from Onyx. Somehow, this stranger Lumen had only just met, saw through his friendly facade and unearthed his true emotional state.

"E-er, well, You see, I am afraid I can not divulge all of the details about the cause of my poor mood. But to put it simply, I have alot to worry about."

(I see nothing wrong with dem sentences there. They give me plenty to work with! >3<)

Onyx put the dead cat down before looking at Lumen. “Many people would say that I don’t know when not to stick my nose into other people’s business, but I can’t help it if I like to listen.” Crossing his arms, he looks toward the sunset and says, “What I’m trying to say is that I’m a good listener for those who needed it.”

It was clear to Lumen that there was more to this necromancer than what meets the eye. It seemed that despite the macabre of Onyx's talents, he was truly a caring individual with good intentions.

"Often acts of good intention are misinterpreted for the opposite. I am sorry people speak of you in such a way."

Lumen noticed they had been standing in the middle of the road for some time.

"Well, I would be willing to chat about that which I can in a moment. Perhaps we could make camp first? I have been walking for quite some time"

Onyx nods in agreement. “Sure. Let’s see..... My house is just over there so let’s go there. It’s better than having to set up a fire in the middle of the road.” He starts heading east toward his house, gesturing to Lumen to follow him.

Bowing his head toward Onyx, Lumen thanked him. It was rather kind to offer lodgings to a stranger.

"Ah, thank you for the hospitality. I appreciate it more than you know."

Lumen followed behind Onyx with tired legs.

(Somehow forgot about that last part. I added it now xD )

“You’re welcome. I always offer hospitality to everyone, except grave robbers. Grave robbers always make things difficult for me to reanimate.” Onyx and Lumen arrives at his home and he opens the door. The inside is surprisingly neat for a Necromancer, but Onyx lights some candles to brighten up the room. “It’s not much, but it’s home for me.”

(It’s ok. I got what you meant.)

(Aye! Good to hear ^0^)

"Grave robbers violate the peaceful sanctums of the departed to quench their avarice. It is truly a loathsome act."

Lumen followed Onyx inside the house, admiring how neat the interior was. It was clear that it was well kept and tended to often by Onyx.

"This is certainly a comfy place to live. I could see one living quite comfortably here."

Onyx grinned as he pulled out two chairs. “I always make sure this place is clean. Although I normally don’t get a lot of visitors, I always have the place ready in case I do.” He sat down in a chair and gestures to Lumen to sit. “I’m all ears. So what happened?”

"That is very prudent. A noteworthy quality best preserved."
Accepting the offer, Lumen approached the chair and sat. Of course, not before he adjusted his robes so that they did not wrinkle underneath him. With a sigh, Lumen culled over what he could say and how to say it.

"I have a friend....Who of which, is very dear to me. I would do anything to ensure their safety. But recent events require me to spend extended periods of time away. What makes this so troublesome, is that said friend is going through a very decisive period in their life. That of which I wish I could be of service in supporting."

Onyx cocked his head. “Something tells me you feel like you have no choice but continue to do what you have to do away from your friend.” He scratched his head before continuing. “If your friend is very important to you, make sure he’s well looked after before going on this quest. After all the shenanigans that happened over the last couple of years, you never know whether the next day will be your last.”

(How the heck did I go from making Onyx a crazy person to a counselor the next?!)

(Who said crazy people can't be counselers? xD)

Adjusting in his seat slightly, Lumen replied to Onyx, relaxing a bit more but still retaining proper posture.

"I am assured that he is in good company but, I can not help but worry. It can not be helped I guess."

(Aye! I have to turn in early tonight regretably. I'm sorry! D: Perhaps we can schedule another time in which to roleplay again in the future. Until then, good night and thank you for the fantastic roleplay! I had alot of fun! :D)

Onyx smiled before saying, “Everyone has the right to be worried about their friends, even when they know they’re going to be fine.” Onyx stretched his arms before continuing. “Heck, I have very few friends, but nobody really worries about me because they know I can handle myself with my dead cats and my dead dragon.”

(Crap. Didn’t see it until now. Ok. I have to go to bed anyway. Class in the morning. )

(Hiya! I'm here! finally made it >3<)

Lumen nodded his head, his hair shuffeling down as he did so. It seemed like such a small gesture, but with so much hair, even little movements caused cascades.
"Well, you may consider me a friend, for I think of you as such. The kindness you have shown me is quite noteworthy. I commend you."

Onyx nodded in response, still smiling. “You’re welcome, Lumen. I’m glad to have a new friend.” He looked at Lumen for a second, before asking. “You’re not from around here, are you? Your accent kinda gives it away.”

(Great! Ima get started! :D)

Answering promptly with great care, Lumen spoke with a polite, calm voice.

"Indeed. You are very observant. I am indeed not of Iclionian lineage. Rather, I am of a bloodline from Citrine."

“Citrine, huh? That makes sense. I’ve only seen Citrine people pass through here sometimes and you look similar to them.” Onyx nodded. “My curiosity got the better of me again. One of these days, I’m going to end up dead like a cat from my curious nature.”

(Are you still here????? Cause I’m hearing crickets and I don’t like hearing crickets)

"Do people from Citrine often pass through these parts?"

Lumen shook his head back and forth, a smile on his face.

"Curiosity brings many things, trouble, revelation, even riches. No matter what it brings, I feel you will be fine. You look very capable to me"

Onyx grinned. “Thanks for that. I probably needed to hear that. As for your question, just few Citrine people come through these parts.” At that moment, his stomach growled loud enough to be mistaken for a lion. “Sorry..... Guess I should have made something to eat before I practiced.”

A chuckle escaped from Lumen, a look of understanding on his face.

"I know all too well what that is like. I have trained hungry before. Perhaps I could fix us a meal? I am sure that between what rations I have and what you have in storage, I can make us a suitable dish."

Lumen began sifting through his memory for what he had ingredient-wise on him.

Onyx stood up and looked in the food cabinet. “I have 2 small bags of rice, a small basket of potatoes, some peppers, and enough spices to last me to the end of the world. What do you have?”

Recollecting the ingredients he had brought, Lumen replied to Onyx promptly.

"I have a pouch of herbal tea blend. It was expertly assorted by a local demitase enthusiast I know. So that should make a fine drink to accompany our meal."

Lumem continued to list off what he had that was useful for making a meal.

"A small container of flour, two eggs, butter and some bayleaf. That is all.....Oh and some pickled meat!"

Retrieving all these things from small pouches in his robes, it was apoarent that all these ingredient were in very small quantity to best make traversal unhindered.

Onyx thought about the food both of them had for a few minutes before saying. “Sounds like ingredients for either stew or bread and potatoes.”

Lumen nodded thoughtfully, his hand on his chin as he pondered what else he could make.

"Perhaps......Or maybe...."

Suddenly, Lumen decided on what he wanted to make.

"Seasoned Grilled Potatos, two fried eggs with diced bayleef and a side of buttered rice with pickled meat."

Remembering his manners, Lumen spoke again.

"That is, if you would prefer that? We could always go with your options if not."

Onyx licked his lips unconsciously. “That sounds so good, it’s making my mouth water. I’ll pull out the potatoes, rice, and the spices.”

(Oops. Forgot to add this)

He grabbed the basket of potatoes and put it on the table, along with the rice and a mixture of cinnamon, cumin, turmeric, and coriander

Bowing his head, Lumen thanked Onyx for his cooperation. Even he was a bit anxious for the meal. It sounded delightful to him.

"I am glad we are in concordance! Shall we get started?"

(Aye! I hate it when that happens >-<)

Onyx grinned. “Yes! Please!”

(Should we time jump to the meal being finished? Or?...."

A mouth-watering aroma filled the house, as Lumen finished setting the table. Finely browned grilled potatos sat steaming on their plate. The green and red speckles of spices sat purmeating on the moist skins of the grilled potatos. And beside those sat two fried eggs, glistening with green strips of bayleaf strewn over them like edible ribbons. Accompanying those were a small, white teapot with little diamonds adorning the outside, and a bowl of buttered rice with meat. Inside the teapot sat a pungent herbal tea, simmering off plumes of aromatic steam. Whereas the bowl of rice sat asjacent to the teapot. The rice glittered in the light, as did the meat. Streams of golden yellow butter cascaded down the many facets of the rice, only to glide upon the rough texture of the meat.

"This came out rather nice I would think."
Said Lumen, rather proud of the impromptu meal.

(Sorry if it took a while for me to respond)

Onyx stood there, gobsmacked with his mouth open. “It looks so delicious.” He sat down slowly and took a bite of one of the eggs. “Oh my god, I’m in heaven! This is delicious!”

(It's cool! No problem! ^0^)

Bowing his head, Lumen did a very brief, silent prayer to destria before taking up a fork and beginning his meal.

"Thank you, I am pleased to hear you like it."

Lumen's plate was set with two grilled potato halves, one fried egg and a side of the buttered rice and meat. Gracefully, he scooped a mouthfull of buttered rice, enjoying the warm texture.

"Be it a simple dish, it is quite delectable."
