In the days that lead up to the decision to end me, Hiiro stepped in a refused to let anyone destroy that little pink egg.

She, our Mother, called him every name under the sun. But he stood his ground against her. Everytime she'd knock him away, he'd come running back and fight her off. He'd sink his claws and teeth into her, to protect me. An egg.

An egg everyone thought they knew would never hatch...

Eventually she admitted defeat, telling him to keep that stupid dead egg and not to come crying to her when it started to rot.

He didn't leave me for that entire week, licking the wounds our Mother had given him and growling at anyone who dared get to close. That stubbornness is good for something at least!

Because I finally decided to hatch!

To be greeted by a big brother, who was hoping I would be a baby brother, boy was he disappointed. But he still loved me and made sure to rub me (sometimes literally) in others faces.

I'm pretty sure the first thing I learned in this world, was 'I told you so'"
