(Sure! I can start it off. Just give me a sec, the intros take the longest :D)

It was a dry, hot day. The sea breeze was the only thing bringing any reprieve from the sun. The local people went about their days fishing and crafting various tools for mariners and the like. Lumen found himself relaxing in a resturant seated on the edge of a craggy beach. The tiny pebbles of gray and brown hues litered with crabs and various sea-bound creatures. Lumen sipped some chilled tea prepared from a pungent vepuran root. It taste was powerful and Lumen was not quite sure if he liked it or not. It did have a kick to it that he admired, and he considered it once more, taking one more sip before placing it gently on the table.

"I am going to have to think about that...."

(I haven't roleplayed Lumen in awhile, so pardon me if I'm a little rusty >o<)

Lumen was deep in thought about things. The voyage he was prepping for was drawing closer and closer. And it seemed that he had already been away from Castle Citrine long enough, and here he was traveling still. If not for the familiar voice that came from the seat across from him, he might have been buried in pencive pondering for hours. Lumen looked up, slightly taken aback by the sound of Xenon's voice. Xenon was the last person he expected to hear this far from Citrine.

"Xenon? What brings you all the way out here? And what? Intend on coming-"

Lumen bit his lip, stiffling his sentence so not to reveal aloud any more info until after he had glanced around to ensure he wouldn't be heard by any spies, be there any in the law abiding land of Vepura.

"Ahem, You intend on accompanying me on the secret voyage? I thought you would be staying with Akara in my place to protect him?...."

Lumen nodded as he listened to Xenon explain his reasons. His eyebrow twitched a tad at the mention of knowing Serah better. But Lumen quickly composed himself as he scolded himself mentally for his momentary perturbment.

"No Xenon, of course not. The balance would hardly be disturb. I would go to say it might strengthen it. Who better to join me than my closest friends?"

Chuckling with worried look on his face, he agreed with Xenon. Akara was not a child, but an adult. And he would be well supported by his family and friends. But Lumen could not help but worry even so.

"Once again, you are correct. He is the future king. And with his burdens also comes great strength."

(Oop didn't finish!)

Lumen did not feel comfortable discussing publicly anymore. Call it paranoia or wisdom, he felt that at any moment their conversation would become known to prying ears.

"Please, let's go somewhere secure. I can not help but feel scrutinized here."

(There we go xD)

Lumen shrugged, sighing as he did so. Normally, he would have debated that Xenon should stay to watch over Akara. But he had gotten to know Akara more and more, and he got to see how capable he was.

"Well, normally I would be, but to tell the truth, I am rather relieved. The whole endeaver is a bit overwhelming. I am no stranger to responsibillity, but this has me on edge. And I can not quite discern why, but I have always felt like I could trust you. And as many people have learned, I am very skeptical of people, despite the hospitality I show them."

Sipping the last of tea he had ordered, which by now was room temperature, Lumen waved a hand to a waiter and paid for his drink and thanked him for his superb service. Tipping the man before bowing his head farewell. After thewaiter had walked away, Lumen looked back to Xenon.

"Yes I do. There is a Vepuran navy outpost here. If I show the commanding officer the royal crest of Citrine, they should allow us to use their conference room"

(Aye! I knew what you mean't ^0^)

(Crud! I'm sorry man! I hate it when that happens! D: Aye! Good to have ya back! Please take your time with your reply ^0^)

Lumen smiled, his expression lighting up for the first since their conversation.

"It was a compliment. I mean what I say too. I trust you completely."

Straightening his chair, Lumen swept off the lap of his robes with his hands. Seeming to sweep away dust that had yet to have time to agregate.

"Indeed. Lady Claudiesa has been more than cooperative with Citrine and the other allying countries. The soldiers at the navy outpost should be equally accommodating."

With a nod of agreement, Lumen started toward the establisments exit with lupine feet. Seeming not to make a clack on the hard wood floor.

"Ah yes, this way."

(Ima do a time jump. But I'll have to do it in a follow up post after this one to fit it all xD)

The fort was wrought of stone. Mighty rock-solid docks pertruded from the bulk of the outpost. At each one a warship, sat docked ready for combat. The place was just teeming with soldiers, echoeing the clack of armor thoughout the entirety of the place.

Lumen had shown the on duty commandind officer a document with the royal seal of Citrine on it. Shortly thereafter, Lumen and Xenon were escorted into a quiet conference room sheltered in the bowels of the massive stone sea outpost. There was a metal door which was lockable from the inside via a wood swing arm that could sidle up and down to brace from outer entry. And in the room sat braziers that were kindling at a steady pace. Lighting the room and the metal reinforced wood conference table with an orange light.

"This is more than exemplary. Thank you."

Lumen bowed to the two soldiers who escorted them. They exchange a few words before departing down the corrider leading away from the conference room.

Sitting down as well, Lumen adjusted in his chair slightly. Unused to the utilitarian chairs. He chuckled at what Xenon said.

"It is hard to tell the difference here. Makes me shudder at the thought of this outpost's dungeon. But yes, we are more than free to chat now. I feel very secure here. It is thanks to the Vepuran military that the country enjoys such prosperity. I guess it goes to show that different cultures have alternative ways to achieve peace."

Lumen relaxed his posture now that he had settled in his seat. But Lumen's relaxed posture would look to some uncomfortably formal.

"Well, so far excluding you and me, we have two. Prima and Moka. I had only recruited Moka a few days prior before running into you here."

With a gesture of his hand, Lumen continued.

"I intend to keep the teams numbers below ten. I was consider a total of six. But with you here, it would be seven."

(Arghhh! Typo! xD I mean't *Considering)

(I could've sworn Kazuki was recruited after Moka? I could be wrong though xD Ima go take a peek around to see if I can find the roleplay about it. If not, then we'll wing it and forgive the tiny timeline errors >3<)

(Okee dokee! So I checked the recruitment roleplay, and there is no specific chronological date or placement. So it could potentially take place after or before xD But for the sake of convenience, lets make it that Kazuki is recruited after Moka. :3)

Shaking his head slowly no, Lumen replied, his face determined.

"Me and her felt that we would be stronger together rather than apart. That way, we can watch eachothers back."

Lumen held up a hand in reply to Xenon's apology.

"No need to apologize. I am glad to have you with me."

A look of interest fell over Lumen's face.

"Yes? What is it you have to ask?"

(After Moka and after this incident xD)

It surprised Lumen how well the room seemed to stifle echoes despite the barren interior.

"Indeed. Moka saved my life once, and Kazuki and I have fought side by side. I trust that they will both be more than adequate for this mission."

Lumen rested his hands on the cold hard wood table. It seemed as if nothing could budge the table.

"Me and her considered the possibillity of a hostage situation. But we had agreed that in the event of such a dilemma, we would put aside our personal feelings for the success of the mission."

With a warm smile, Lumen bowed his head in reply.

"Yes. In fact, I was intending to do that as soon this all is over. I feel it best for her to have it."

Sharing in the laugh with Xenon, Lumen spoke, his hands resting now more comfortably on the table.

"Ah, well what can I say? I do alot errands that require long distance travel. Being the butler of a crown prince has its perks."

Lumen became serious again. His face less jovial as it was just a moment ago.

" Predictably, the opposition will most certainly play unfair tactics against us. And in the event that happens, I regret to say that the fate of millions of lives way above that of one or two. Serah taught us that....."

Nodding in agreement, Lumen looked up at the cieling. As if looking up at someone.

"I feel she will be with us for the rest of our lives....."

Lumen culled over what Xenon said in his mind. It was truly something he wanted to consider. In the event of such an incident, Lumen's first instinct would be to risk everything for her safety. He would love no other.

"Perhaps you are right.....But what if the team were to try and rescue a captured comrade and the team gets out numbered and captured as well? In the end, everyone dies. Or if we bartyr the necklace for a captured comrade and they keep their word and actually hand over the prisoner? In the end, they have the only means of our retaliation against whatever horrors Erul has in store for us."

Lumen paused, a pained look of confliction on his face.

"At the same time do not wish to willingly leave anyone behind.......But is really our place to risk the worlds safety for the sake of one?...."

(Aye! I am getting super sleepy. Regrettably, I am going to have to call it a night. Perhaps we could resume this tomorrow at the previous start time of 7:30 Pm Est? I really am sorry, but I just can't go on :-;)

Lumen sighed as he heard Xenon. He too had noticed his lack of positivity. One could not blame him for feeling so. After the harrowing experiences within Erul's borders, his morale had been considerably diminished. But the warmth his friend was showing helped raise his spirits.

"You are right....I should be more optimistic. This does not mean I won't still worry, but, I will try to keep a more positive disposition. Thank you Xenon."

A genuine smile came over Lumen's face. Although it might be at first glance naive to give up everything for one. Valid points had been made.

"I feel the same way.....I do not think I would be able to live with such a decision.... To choose one or the other. Either would leave me just as sad."

Lumen placed his hand on Xenon's shoulder.

"I would rather for all of us together in unity fall, than let any one of us fall abandoned."

A huge grin overtook Lumen's face. It was true that Xenon had matured, but some things just never change. For this, Lumen was glad.

"Have you no shame Xenon? I would think the threat of death be motivation enough."

Said Lumen with amusement in his voice.

"Well, the last choice is a difficult one. I have yet to truly decide whom would fill that slot. Needless to say, I will find someone. I just pray it to be soon."

In agreement with what Xenon had said, Lumen closed his eyes and took a deep breath and exhaled. Although this was probably not what Xenon had in mind, it would have to do for the time being.

"I was pondering asking Prima if she would be willing to accompany me to the beach when I got back to Citrine....."

Lumen shook his head, a genuine smile still shaping his face. The canidates were worth considering. But as to if Lumen and Xenon were judging based off the same criteria was anybodies guess.

"Hmmm.... I am familiar with Tnela. We met once before. She has an unusual gift for controlling water. Whereas Parfait I know only by name. I believe she attended the Blue Moon ball...."

Thinking long and hard, Lumen could not seem to place the others Xenon had mention.

"I'm afraid the others I do not revognize....Nonetheless worth considering. I am greatful for your council Xenon."

Lumen stiffened in his seat, eyes wide open. A look of shock slowly transitioned to one of annoyance.

"That is an absolutely preposterous notion. There will be no reasoning with the Erulean leader."

Trying to remain level headed, Lumen took a deep breath and recollected the incidents at the Erulean castle.

" You could see it in his eyes.... Such determination will not be dissuaded by words."

This definately was food for thought. Lumen had many views on the current news.

"Everyone has their dark side....."

Lumen clasped his hand together and looked bowed his head for a moment before resuming eye contact with Xenon.

"Although the acting leader of Afai at first glance seems sinister, I can not help but think he has some purpose in the grand scheme of things.....Amai is an extremely insightful individual. In the end, I think her trust in him will be rewarding."

In his mind, Lumen was starting to glean theories in his mind as to what the true purpose of the summit was.

"It is already clear how all the countries feel about their lands being sieged. That much is clear. What I think, is that Sol is to collect information on Lumious through this summit. And possibly even, try to gain his confidence.........That is all theory though. Nothing more."

Lumen gestured at Xenon. Agreeing with what he had said.

"I conclude you would make a great represenative. I understand how you feel. If we were to make it back in time, I would like to be Citrine's. But I feel that Nira or one of Akara's family kin would be better suited for such a thing. Seeing as we have no guarantee of our timely arrival."

Standing from his chair abruptly, Lumen started toward the barred door. He felt rather stupid for overlooking beverages for their lengthy discussion.

"O-oh! Forgive me! I seem to have been caught up in the gloom, and forgot drinks to fend off the inevitable thirst from conversing."

"You are too kind. But still, I was remiss to neglect such an important comodity."

Lumen lifted the wooden swing arm from the door. It made a loud clack as it swung into the notch that held it in place.

"Is there anything else necessary for discussion? If not, we could vacate this council room for a location with drinks and a more ample flow of air."

Sweeping off his robes, Lumen bowed his head and spoke.

"Very good. We shall be off then."

Lumen opened the large door. He closed it behind them.
He thanked the commanding officer before trading farewells.
And after a fair amount of walking, Lumen and Xenon emerged from the massive military structure.

"So my friend, where would you like to go? There are a collection of eating establishments and watering holes to peruse. All of which I presume, will be delightful."

"Anywhere? Well then I think the seafood resturant a little further inland will d-"

Lumen recoiled violently. His hair now sprawled every which way. Slowly, he replied to Xenon. His voice was slow and deliberate.

"C-come again?...."

(I love where this is going! xD We will totes need to have a roleplay between Xenon and Apecima sometime >3<)

With incredible speed, Lumen turned around, a look of worry on his face and a tremble in the vocal pipes.

"D-did you speak wih her?! Did she flirt with you?!....."

Lumen's mind was racing. He feared Xenon had encountered HER. The one person that he feared most of all: His mother.

(Yes indeed! xD Apecima is an interesting woman to say the least >:3 )

Stumbling backwards, Lumen held his forehead. A tired look on his face.

"Oh Destria why?......I thought she would never find me.....But now she has information to go off of.....It will be only a matter of time before she finds me again....."

Lumen's body was wracked with a sigh. He turned to face Xenon. Quickly, he beckoned him forward.

"We must travel to the bar. Godspeed....."

Lumen was surprised to hear that Xenon did not drink. He had presumed that his friend at least enjoyed a smidge of the grape.

"A resturant works just as well then. I just need a spot of wine. It is an elegant way to past ill tidings...."

Gulping audibly, Lumen fought back the urge to further avoid the question.

"S-she is my mother."

(Pass* xD)

Lumen held up a hand and waved it over his head in a dismissive gesture.

"It would have been painless."

As his feet started carrying him toward a resturant not too far away, Lumen laughed dryly.

"She has that affect on many people. And well aware of this, she uses it to manipulate people."

They approached the resturant. Its interior decor was not yet visible. But the outside eshtetics were percievable. It was warmly lit with lanterns with pink tinted glass.

"Yes and no. It is a bit complicated to say the least. But my biggest issue is her possesive nature."

Lumen nodded, opening the door to the resturant and entering the vestibule.

"It is a great honor. My father would be proud. And so would many of my peers. But my mother had a different view."

Speaking to the resturant greeter, Lumen secured Xenon and him a table. After being seated, Lumen elaborated.

She was training me to succeed her as head of the family. And had spent many years of effort preparing me for such a purpose. Sending me to scholars. Chefs and Champions. I even completed the trial of Cor et anima. But my desire to serve others. Which I might add, came after all the prior. Was in the exact opposite of her vision for me."

The resturant was neatly decorated with various sea-themed ornaments. It was fancy, but not stuffy. The painted brick flooring was well polished, by well worn. It was clear the resturant was family owned and had endured through several generations.

"He is among the living still, but very weak. Confined to his bed most of the time.....He has trouble remembering things."

Lumen took one of the appealing dyed napkins and laid it across his lap. The other he tucked into the front of his robe and let hang over his chest.

"So am I. And I have my father to thank for it. But so to my mother. She had given me the necessary tools to be such an apt servant. I fear if I had not recognized the combat style of the erulean soldiers from my time under Xandra, I would be here today."

Not knowing the signifigance the name might mean to Xenon. Lumen felt comfortable disclosing his sword master's name.

(Yeah! It's hilarious how well the subjects led into eachother xD)

With much sadness in his tone, Lumen was reminded of the day his father had begun wane in health.

"Yes....Very hard. I often feel guilty for not visiting as much as I should...."

Lumen tilted his head at Xenon's reaction to his former teacher's name. So far, Xenon had been undaunted and relaxed about all that had been discussed.

"Do you know her? She was a high ranking individual in the Erulean army. What was her last name again?......Xandra....Xandra.."

Hesitating his sentence, Lumen searched for the last name. It seemed he could not recollect it.

"Ah, I fear the name eludes me further at the moment."

Lumen recognized the last name. It seemed so obvious now. He wondered why he had forgotten it.

"Yes, that was it. I wonder how I forgot it. She was incredibly harsh, but probably the most important combat tutor I has."

Nodding in agreement, Lumen was more than willing to answer.

"It was my mother. She said that Xandra and her were close, and that I was fortunate to have such an opportunity to train under her."

Seeing Xenon's discomfort, Lumen held up a hand to gain the attention of the waiter. With a friendly demeanor, the waiter asked what they wanted to order.

"Hmmm, I would like a glass of a red wine, aged if possible. And for my meal, I would be partial to a platter of cheese and olives. Thank you."

The waiter then turned to Xenon, waiting for his order. Lumen waited politely for Xenon to order before replying to him.

(That took longer than expected xD Sorry about the wait! >o<)

The waiter nodded his head and went off at a brisk pace.

While admiring the decor of the fine resturant, Lumen replied to Xenon.

"Friends? No, Siblings. Not to say their not friendly toward eachother of course."
Lumen adjusted in his seat, Recollecting his time back in Erul. It did not take him long to place how long ago it was.

"About eight years ago. Prior to my Cor et anime."

Slightly perplexed by Xenon's negative reaction to his answer, Lumen felt he had to inquire.

"They are step siblings for they both share the same father. There was a family schism that most in my family felt should stay wide. But my mother meets with her sister regardless. Pardon my asking, but, why does this trouble you?"

Lumen was completely blindsided by this revelation. What were the odds? The chances that they would meet eachother, let alone become friends. It was so astronomical, Lumen had to clarify to be sure. Though, this clarification did not seem to leave his lips until some time had passed. Whilst the silence permeated the table, he stared wide eyed with a frozen expression.

"Pardon me but-C-come again?"

Whst was once supposed to be a meal to calm the nerves had now derailed into yet another stressful situation. Lowering his voice so that only Xenon could hear, Lumen continued the conversation

"You have my word, I shall never utter a word about this to anyone."

Culling over what he just said, he quickly added to his previous promise.

"Accept maybe Prima....That is, she asks....By my love pact with her I can not lie to her lest I wish to suffer the punishment of a vow of silence. But I swear, I shall not tell anyone else...."

After another pause, Lumen put his face in the palms of his hands and leaned forward. Thereafter, he added once again ANOTHER amendment to his previous statement.

"Well, of course if Master Akara inquired, I am duty bound not to betray him. Lest I want to suffer ritual suicide......Dedtria why me?...."

Lumen felt significantly better know he did not have to lie to Prima or Akara. Punishments aside, he felt he would not be able to do so if he tried.

"I appreciate your confidence, you are too kind. It will be considerably easier to maneuver away from the subject with other people than it would with Prima or Akara."

Adjusting awkwardly in his seat, Lumen felt strange about talking about his mother. It seemed like talking about her might summon her to their location.

"Indeed.....I too am rather out of my element. I have never felt this awkward since Prima and m-Er, Never mind that! What I mean to say is-"

At that moment, the waiter came and placed their orders on the table. Lumen was glad for the interruption. It gave him a chance to try and change the subject.

"Ah yes! Thank you!"

"I am more than thankful for such. Such a situation would reduce me to my lowest constitution."

Lumen paused for a moment, thinking about the wonderful moment at the blue moon ball. It was the best moment of his life. He continued thinking about Prima and various other events between them, He blushed absent mindedly about it all. Realizing he had been daydreaming publicly, he quickly took a sip of his wine and spoke.

"Y-yes! That is.....Exactly what I was talking....About....Ahem! But yes, I intend on taking a brief break soon....Perhaps it will help me digest such news, our being half cousins I mean."

(Oh yeah, and up above I mean't *half sisters not step sisters xD)

Lumen purposely dropped an olive near Xenon.

"Oh, my bad! Let me get that."

Nonvhalantly he approached adjacent to Xenon to pick up the olive. As he did so, he whisper to Xenon.

"We are to meet at Castle Citrine. The envelopes I hand out to each of them disclose the wrong location, but the proper date."

Standing up and taking up his seat, Lumen resumed eating after cleaning his hands with a napkin.

"We are to meet at a remote location in Iclios. The last place they would expect us to meet."

Eating the olives and cheese in a slow, overly formal way, Lumen savored the way the flavors mixed with the after taste of the wine.

"Good, I am glad to have your support."

Lumen's ear twitched as he heard something. He turned just at that moment to try and see what was going on when suddenly, a woman stumbled into him. At first, what was first sympathy turned into skepticism. He quickly made a note of the womans appearance. Then darting his eyes toward the resturant exit, he tried to spot the person who bumped the woman.

"Oh, It is quite alright madam- please wait! Are you okay?"

(like a ninja i like to sneak around....i mean that in a not creepy way.)

(I check on the Destria tag and its tag more than I like to admit xD Don't worry Pooky, you are not creepy. I'M creepy >:3)

Lumen bowed his head toward the woman in an attempt to calm her.

"I would not dream of being mad at you madam. Please, let me not detain you any longer. I merely feared for your wellbeing."

Now sure that the men playing cards were not going anywhere, Lumen discretely watched the Bee Hybrid with his peripheral vision whilst taking another sip of wine. He was trying to discern if she was leaving or returning to her seat.
"Yes, I am quite alright. I am merely maintaining my situational awareness. Call it what you will, but I try to keep an eye on everyone."

Sipping the last of his wine, Lumen proceeded to finish his Cheese and Olives. He chuckled at Xenon's joke.

"I am glad you have not matured past your humor. I would have missed it. But yes, we should probably be going. Other than what I have told you, nothing comes to mind."

Wiping his lips with a napkin as to make sure they were pristinely clean, Lumen started to tidy up his side of the table. He stacked his plate and napkins neatly. Signalling for the waiter, Lumen paid what was due and also tipped the man generously.

Lumen raised an eyebrow as he stood up from his seat. smiling warmly as he chuckled at Xenon's reply.

"Of course, my mistake."

Bowing in farewell, Lumen started to realize how much he was feeling now compared to earlier. He admired the way Xenon could raise anothers sprits.

"Indeed! I am glad we had the time to converse. Your visit as definately restored my morale. Thank you, Xenon."
