First of what are Elvira?
Elvira are to put it simply, are spirit dragons.
They are relatively small, about the size of a house hold pet, so they range anywhere between the size of a large dog to a cat.
Despite they're adorable looks, Elvira are far from something you want to keep. Often times they are link to misfortune as they are a huge trouble makers, robbing travelers, trapping them, or messing up their camps.Elvira are much like pixies, in that sense. Sometimes they'll even steal children to use for whatever purpose is stowed in their little brains.
Not all elvira are nasty little pranksters. Some tend to self-proclaim themselves as 'wards of nature', which just leads them into being territorial and aggressive. Though if you manage to befriend an Elvira, they make for surprisingly loyal companions.
Elvira also loaf information,they have an extensive knowledge about the world and it's mysteries. They hate sharing it, claiming that 'wisdom is meant for the heart of an intellectual', the only intelligent species worthy enough to behold it, is well of course them. Elitist and condescending, it's almost an insult if somone else knows more. They'll even try to propose a deal, just to learn some intel.
It is never a good idea to make deals with them, as they are often rigged, not for you benefit, but theirs.

Magic
Elvira are generally rather gifted in this field.Though some are born with natural wings All elvira can fly, and they do so with the assistance of magic. Infact elvira without wings tend to be better skilled in this area. Wings are beautiful and more frills and feathers are good for attracting mates, though elvira generally care less about that and more on things like science and power.
That being said, it is not unheard of for a fancy feather head to be good at magic. It just allows for more pride though, elvira already have a big ego but it's worsened with looks.
As for what they are capable of, simple levitation, psychic abilities and arcane magic is what they excel at most. It is possible for them to manipulate thoughts and feelings, though a stong-willed host is generally able to resist them from getting inside their brain.
Which is where deals come in, Elvira are able to do a lot more to someone once a contract had been established. This can be both good and bad, so be careful.
spells and elemental magic is possible but requires a lot more study and focus.
another thing, can they raise people from the dead still?
that's complicated and it's generally considered 'taboo'
As wild as they are, Elvira still have deep rooted morals. Though they have that stupid 'holier than thou' mindset.

Personalities vary so, they're could be such a thing as a humble Elvira, they might be out casted by the rest of the species though ;)

0-0 i think i just found my new Spirit animal! These guys are so amazing!!!! I love the fact that they want to absorb knowledge for just themselves! I could see hundreds of these guys just LIVING in a freaking library!! And the fact that they pickpocket, trap and look beautiful is just a great package!! Beautiful work!

As for the human.... I would say for people who are die hard shifter people maybe not, but for me personally, since they are smaller animals id say that could be tiptoeing the line. Of course unless they are like really short people xD then I say go for it!! Haha

I think they'd be better without human forms, considering their small sizes and the fact that their abilities are narrowed in certain areas that do not include human-type things. If that makes sense. :P

Re: I pictured them together, since you said "color palettes" as if they were all supposed to go together, like a color palette. xD But you can interpret any of those in whatever ways you want. I like all of those colors, so an elvira with one of those colors would be fine.

i think really any color palette could work so long as it's not super clashy/random like a rainbow elvira or somethin
also personally i think human forms are really overdone? it feels like every dragon-like character that exists HAS to have some kind of human form and it's really boring tbh. plus elvira just don't really seem to fit anything human at all unless they all became grunkle stan

Aahhhhh he's a pretty boiiiii. I love all the little sparklesss. For a fav palette? Yellows and lighter shades, or bright red oranges, sunset themes are really nice too tbh. Those blue-green-yellow parrots are really pretty too.) When it comes to shifting, idk, sometimes less is more, although yhinking about it little feathered pixies would be entertaining aha x') you do you my friend, if you don't feel they need a second form that's completely fine.

I always love anything with purple, any shades of purple, you could slap purple onto almost anything and I'd like it 'XD
(That is, if you'd consider me a friend, I don't know ':D )
I also agree with just about everyone else, so many species these days have human forms, I think it'd be nice to have a few more species that don't XP

shifters: can be cool but idk it doesnt fit these guys so much bc small and also i dont personally care about shifting (you can always just make an AU if you want bois to be human lol)
colors: i lovelove orange and it goes good with blues or purples or reds and gah colors good. greens with browns is also fun
lizards: sO many exist i like geckoy bois and komodo dergons and idk there are a lot of good lizdeds!!! might come back with more ideas laters

this makes me wonder how an elvira would react to someone just /loving/ them & like...grabbing it up and hugging it (akin to a kid going "AWWW KITTY!!!" *HUGS CAT AND DRIVES IT INSANE*) ... mainly because i can see myself trying to befriend one if they were real lol
/no/ deal making or anything of that sort, though i would try to give them some food or something. hmm theyd probably feel insulted by that wouldnt they? "you dare treat me like a cat"
