Lol, she could be from a game, if you ask me! (Reminds me of Impa from BOTW!) As for a background, she could've been a monk: she mastered all the secret techniques and everything, then went on a journey to help people. But when she came back to her temple, someone had destroyed it and most of her fellow-monks! So now she sometimes travel from place to place, in search of someone to pass on what she learned, to. And guide them to defeat the enemy who destroyed her's and many others temples. (Since she's too old by now...)
