Meet Tom...

Everyone know Tom.. yup, he famous in the land of dreams, you wouldn't have made it though the Shadows hunters school without hearing about Thomas, Tom is classified from The Shadowhunters as a 'Juggernaut' he a tank of a Nightmare and physically wise stronger then Malice, Tom is also a multi shifter which makes him very adaptable to new parts...

this legendary Nightmare has stories about him facing Heavens blades and Captains in combat, about him losing a limb to his foe only for Tom to rip one of their limbs off and attach it to himself...

Tom body is horribly disfigured, his body is covered in scars and parts of creatures that do not belong to him, it is known just how much of Tom is even his original frame as parts of it has been replaced many times throughout the thousands of years.

A lot of this a mutilation has been caused by Malice, out of all the Ancient Tom has challenged Mal the most or at least lost the most... With each failed attempt in taking the Mal's title, Malice's has taken a body part from Thomas...if it's a leg, foot, arm, finger, eye, and when Mal get really mad... Kidney, liver stuff like that... Mal could have killed Tom a long time ago but hasn't, that because Mal use Tom as an example, you mess with him and you could end up like Tom.

( A bit of back story )

Tom is the second youngest ancient Nightmare, unlike the older ancients who were forced by Malice to become Nightmares, Tom contracted nightmare syndrome during the time of the plague of it, before the Fairfins we're made Dreamers we're getting deathly sick or turning into monsters know as Nightmares, Tom was one of these victims to get deathly ill from the syndrome that now plagued the Dreamer species.

in this dark times experiments were done from both sides, to find a cure or ways to make the corruption even worse.. Tom's former self was one of those experiments, it's because of these experiments he develop some enhance abilitys...

Thomas recovery and healing ability is extremely abnormal. Tom could lose a body part and just replace it with something else and his body would fuse with it eventually.

All Nightmares have impressive recovery ( I cover this in my lore already ) almost all the ancients have body parts that originally do not belong to their frames. Mal has lost an arm, leg and in Skey he lost an eye, if replaced with a Dreamer or Nightmare part the recover is fast and eventually those part will be made to look part of their frame ( Mal purple replacement eye has already been truned yellow )
But it's because of Tom recovery and him being a multi shifter that he use any species body parts, but it's because he does this he the only ancient who cannot suppresses Darkness. Pretty much Tom is a monstrous mess
