yes, this is a real bug, there really is a bee that is this blue color. it's xylocopa caerulea AKA the blue carpenter bee/malaysian carpenter bee.
i did this from memory (aside from one quick glance at photos to make sure only the bees' thorax is blue) so this lacks details and the legs probably arent drawn right. oh well lol.
