Backstory:

Flint originally came from a small clan of griffins on Centryse's western border, living far away from any humanoid races. At around the age of 3 his clan had been attacked by a large group of hunters, as griffin feathers were high in value at the time, and very few survived. Many simply died in the flames, as the hunters had set the forest ablaze, and others went missing.

As one of the last surviving griffins of this unusual clan, he followed his now deceased mothers orders to run further into the country. Along the road to the center of this place, he had become too weak to continue, at which time an elder Ursoo, named Molly, discovered the young griffin lying on a nearby hill.

Years passed as she raised him like her own son, before he eventually had to leave again, this time in search of the current High Queen, knowing that she would take action against griffin related trade, hunting, and cruelty if he brought his story to her, even if no one else would.

At the age of 12, he had finally arrived at the palace, taking a year to get there, and being the first to make a change for all griffin kind with the High Queen's guidance. During his short time in the palace, he had noticed many of the soldiers coming and going from there, and decided to try joining them in their noble cause.

The High Queen's main goal was to stop the abuse of hybrids across Etharia, which was most common in the desert country of Malurai, and to make progress towards the equality of all the various intelligent races. An uncommon goal for the time.
His desire to join the highest rank of these soldiers, the Royal Guardians, eventually lead him to the Hawk's Reach Flight Academy, a place for any creature capable of flight to hone their skills. He began his classes in the same year that he arrived at the palace, and spent 3 long years training to be the best that he could so that he might one day be accepted into their ranks.

Through these 3 years, he would often be the subject of gossip, many jokes, and more. Looking back on it, he believes it made him even stronger to have these people going against him so frequently.

His focus was turned away from simply proving others wrong by the only friend he had made there, a small deer named Wendy that lived out in the middle of the woods not far from there. She had made him realize there was more to life than being better than the rest or getting even.

As they spent more and more time together, growing ever closer, he convinced her to leave her woodland home, and no longer fear the world around her, so that she may continue her search for a way to revive her sister.

After some time, the pair left the academy for the palace again, this time to join as members of a new order that formed in response to the abuse in Malurai, the Order of Goldwing, named after the man who started it only months before they left.

Currently, the two of them work together on assignments across the world, with Flint being mentored by a Dreamer he had met briefly upon joining the academy named Sol, and Wendy being a student of various witches in the attempt to find this "second life" for her sister.

After Flint took a trip to Varen at age 18, however, no one has heard anything from either of them. It is suspected that they may be dead, lost, or in hiding, but no one can say for sure where they've gone. Sol was the only one to see them last, and has also vanished at this time.
