Mina was born to her mother Ariana, a golden variant Venatavis, and her father Markus, a common Venatavis. Despite Mina’s deep sapphire feathers being more close to her father’s, she shares more similarities with her mother, especially in the face and eyes. Mina never really knew her parents as they perished in a house fire shortly after her birth.

Mina was taken in by her Aunt and Uncle, both common Venatavis with no children. She was raised by mainly her Aunt for 9 years, who loved and cared deeply for her. Mina never hated her childhood, her Aunt and Uncle treated her very well.

Throughout her childhood Mina constantly heard stories from her Aunt about her parents. She listened to tales of all the adventures the two went on before they had her. She never disliked her childhood because of the way she was treated, no. Mina disliked it because it wasn’t what she wanted. She wanted to be like her parents. She wanted to fight dragons and fall in love, she wanted to experience the outside world.

So, at the young age of 10, Mina ran away from the cozy little house in search for adventure. She left nothing but a note detailing her plans behind.

Mina had always known that she was a runt. She was much smaller than most Venatavis throughout her life. Her poisonous talons were almost completely defective and she had never managed to breathe fire until shortly before her death. She walked on all fours instead of on twos like a raptor. However despite this Mina was able to thrive on her own throughout her years of travel. She taught herself how to live. She taught herself how to fight. She knew how to get herself out of dangerous situations, especially the situations she faced in the city.

When she was 17, Mina found herself traveling with another Venatavis, a male Golden variant named Arthur. They became a couple shortly after meeting but got into a violent skirmish over an argument a few months after. This skirmish left Mina with the nasty slash scars on her beak. Ever since the incident Mina has had a distaste for others of her species, as well as a slight fear of men. This fear faded of course when she met Hiiro.

Throughout the years Mina has sent letters to her Aunt and Uncle, detailing that she was doing okay and living the life her parents did. She never knew if the letters reached them, but if they did her Aunt and Uncle would soon know something was wrong when the letters suddenly stop.
