And you just took something from a possible murderous loon." His eyes flashed again, but this time wild like a hungry lion. He reach for his shotel and brought it out. "Let's see how you handle this one girl" He shouted and he sliced the branches that had been concealing them. He laugh maniacally as if his entire mindset has changed. "There hows that for a cowered? Now we're both out in the open and those little orange bugs are going to get you. I doubt you can run well with those broken legs."

She snapped at his feet before snagging the pile of leaves and racing out from under the tree roots. The canine bolted past a small swarm of fireflies, leaving two leaves in her wake to distract them as she escaped into the fog. The jay simply sat perched in the branches above Riptide, staring at him.

He shouted angrily when she bolted by. //Stupid girl, I'll kill her when this is over// Riptide looked back to the ground and saw his jar lying there, thank goodness, some of the fireflies had noticed he was still there and were heading his was. "Tch" He had to act quick, snatching the teal jar he opened it and took a large handful of green dust. Not a moment later here violently tossed the dusted on the ground causing a large green cloud to cover the area. "Here I come you mutt!" Riptide growled charging after her murderously.

Running through a bush, she leaped down the steep cliff, landing neatly at the bottom. //It took me a day to climb this thing.. Maybe backtracking is the right thing to do, though.// She jumped over a small creek, making sure to not touch the murky water. The fog was thick but she knew it would clear soon.

Riptide darted through the forest after her. When he reached the cliff he impulsive jumped landed with his feet sliding in the earth. A smile crept up his face. "Hey, hey, lookie here, I might be killer after all." He mocked tightening the grip on his blade. "You gonna keep running or will you sit still like a good girl and let me cut you up!" He called.

(For some reason I imagine Riptide with a voice like Dean, which just makes him annoying and screamy x'D

(Oh dang that's something to note, he's ignorant of the murky water so that might very well happen, unless we can somehow calm this loon down. I think he just need to get out of ni'rr and see the light. Mmmm but if he saw sunlight would he hiss like some sort of vampire? :thinking emoji:

Sterven said nothing, only running faster. Her paws seemed to skim the earth with little sound as she drove herself deeper into the fog.
The jay swooped down and snagged Riptide's jar, almost falling from the sudden weight. He landed near the water, once more just staring at him. The odd bird tilted his head and cawed like a crow. "Such big words from a small brain! Though, you could say the same for me. Whatcha doin tryna kill someone, anyways?" His beak almost turned to a smile.

"Well you must think you're clever." Riptide's eyes shifted to his belt and he clenched his fist. "Good thing I don't just have one." He said holding out a handful of yellow dust. "Never used this one before,,, let's see whatvit does shall we?" He smiled and tossed it on the ground some of it expanded it a choking cloud of thick smoke, but the rest of it land in the murky water, and the result was an eruption. Riptide shielded his face as fire from the explosion lit up his eyes and set the trees around them a blaze. Stuck the jar inside his pouch, keeping it out of reach.

The jay cawed loud enough that his call seemed to echo across the entire forest, and he flew up into the leaves and fog before the dust could hit the water. The other jar was still in his talons and he dropped it into the stream, simply staring at Riptide. The edges of his wings were on fire, leaving a wake of flames as he tried to escape. He tried to fly higher into the canopy, but suddenly it felt like he was upside-down and crashed back to the ground.
Sterven slowed slightly and looked back. This orange glow was different. A warmth started to press around her and a faint feeling hit her - something wasn't right. Growling under her breath, she raced back to the stream, skimming the ground for her friend.

Riptide stalked towards the stream and used his shotel to scoop up the jar, this time securing it in his pouch. He looked around for the bird but saw no sign, that mattered less to him though. The result from his reckless actions had caused a ring of fire to close around him. Though at least he seemed a bit more level headed, now that he had stopped focusing on pursuing Sterven and her Jay companion. //Leave them, I'll find a way put by myself, I bet they'll drop dead in this forest anyway.// He thought snorting.

Sterven almost tripped over the bird, her paws scuffing the ground. Just as she picked him up in her mouth, a flame leaped to the loose bandage on her side. She yelped, almost dropping the jay, and started running without thinking. Her blue mane was now a fiery red-orange as the flames threatened to devour her. Almost blind with fear, she ended up crashing into Riptide, then falling into the stream. The water barely did anything to douse the fire and she screamed until the pain felt like nothing. //I guess I'm a phoenix in fur. I'll be ash any second.//

Riptide stumbled a bit and was and hissed as she barreled into him. "Watch it!" He yelled starring down at her. For a moment he thought about letting her burn and drown in the muck. Though it didn't sut right for him, and for some reason he felt that he ought to care about her. Instinctively he reached down and grabbed her by the scruff, dragging her out of the stream. Then acting quickly he tried to pat out the flames.
