Aris Menagerie Ref by FadingGlory
I think it's about time I revisited this very old character. Aris (formerly Skree) was the first humanoid OC I ever drew, and the first character I roleplayed with. It's wild to compare this to her original ref sheet.
Aris Menagerie is a warrior in an organization of winged people known as "The Daughters of the Sun." The organization was created to rescue avian victims from harsh societies and to give them the chance to fight for their freedoms. She is one of hundreds and works both in teams and alone.
Aris came from an industrial plant where she and other creatures were forced to work for industrial lords in a steam-powered city. She was separated from her family as a child, and she was left with chained wings and no way of escape. But when she was ten, a winged woman called the "White Sun" broke open the factory and freed everyone, then promised Aris a home under the Daughters of the Sun.
Since then, Aris has ascended a two-part ranking system to the title of Glass Hawk, one of the highest positions of the Sun's Wings - information gatherers and undercover spies. The Glass Hawk's slogan is "Be invisible; see through everything."
Aris works in her home city once again, but this time from above, hunting for secrets and exploiting the weaknesses of the industrial lords.

As a character, Aris is fiercely determined with everything she does. She treasures her independence as a free soldier and her dependence as a member of the organization. She can come off as hot-headed and stubborn, so most know not to cross her.
She has the wings and tail of the Red Tailed hawk, giving her the codename "The Red Hawk."
On Aris's right shoulder is the organization's emblem as well as her ranking badges. There are three ranks under the Sun's Wings: the Iron Wings (tertiary set), the Glass Hawks (secondary set), and the Silver Warriors (primary set). She has already earned her tertiary and secondary Wings (colored silver). When she ranks up to Silver Warrior, she will earn her primary Wings, the final set.
I'll explain the ranking system better later on if people want to see more of this concept.
