Featuring the lovely species mascot, #FLEon
(I'll do his ref soon I promise)
Natural Language:
Before the species became more civilized, they would often growl or purr in various tones to communicate. This has since been abandoned by all but the "feral" ones in their world, and is seen as impolite.
Vennelian Language:
While they mostly speak in English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, and Irish, they do have their own language that is rarely used.
This language is nearly impossible to understand for most people, as it consists of noises only Vennelians can make. This other language is usually used when they don't want other creatures to know what's going on, such as when gossiping about a human who might be nearby, or discussing business within the higher ranks.
It is incredibly rare for a Vennelian to only know this language, as they are taught English early on, unless the family's main language is something else.

Accents:
The most common accents to have are as follows;
Varying types of British accents, Irish accent, Italian accent, Spanish accent, Arabic accent, and varying types of American accents.
The reason these are so common among them is unclear, but many things stand out as a possible cause for it.
Merchants from Malurai often visit Vennelian cities for trading, which could be the cause of Arabic accents becoming common.
Many of the first interactions they had with humans involved people from Ireland and the UK.
Americans once tried to build a colony in the far corner of one of their cities, only to be invited as normal citizens.
A small town consisting of French, German, and Italian humans was built not far from their largest city, which eventually caused an alliance with humans to be formed.
And finally, Spanish humans were found roaming the forests not long after humans were brought to the planet, discovering Vennelians shortly after the people from Ireland and the UK did.
