Pretty good, though I can see what you mean about bland.
But Miracle Matter was pretty bland originally so it makes sense, especially if this 'miracle swordsman' still transforms abilities. [fire/ice/plasma sword, like squeak squad?]

The original was just a polyhedron with eyes, so this is much less bland going by description alone. ;)
