Styles tend to be influenced by a lot of different things that the artist may have observed over a long span of time, right? Maybe you are influenced by several different artists and their styles like I am. You just happen to be influenced by a lot of anime/manga artists and works. That isn't a bad thing. It's the style YOU like and that YOU have made and grown over the years. So yes, your style is personal that way.

What your teacher said was unfair. Chances are that he/she is influenced by artists she admires. By their logic that means her style isn't personal either. I don't give a crud if they draw like Dali or Van Gogh, because you know what? IF THEY DRAW LIKE THEM, THAT PROBABLY MEANS THAT THEY WERE INFLUENCED BY THEM.
